Wildlife Lab Confirms Isolated Bird Death Incident(This taken from Idaho Fish and Game Release) Tests at the Idaho Fish and Game Wildlife Health Laboratory in Caldwell have confirmed salmonella as the cause in the deaths of about 30 pine siskins at one property in Hailey, Idaho. The 30 pine siskins were among about 3,000 songbirds being fed from some 30 bird feeders on a one-acre property in the south central Idaho town. No human illness has been connected to the incident. Idaho Fish and Game wildlife veterinarian Mark Drew said incidents of songbird deaths are "unfortunately all too common in Idaho this time of year as snow starts to melt, exposing fecal material and molding bird seed and seed husks." Simple hygiene measures including cleaning feeders with soapy water and mild bleach, and removing old seeds and feces from the ground around feeders will prevent most potential diseases among birds in feeding situations. It is advisable to use gloves while doing the cleaning work. Drew and other Fish and Game officials have been in contact with the property owner to offer advice on how to deal with the current situation and to scale down the feeding effort in future winters to minimize the potential for further problems. Pine siskins, common in Idaho, are particularly prone to infections with salmonella around feeders because they are adapted to feed in treetops, not on the ground as they do when using some bird feeders, Drew said. Perhaps the info might be useful to all of our clients. http://www.epa.gov/pesticides/health/flea-tick-control.html. Note: Rose is writing a story about her next door neighbor's dog that became unable to walk the day after Frontline was applied to the back of his neck. It took him six months to resume somewhat normal function, and his hind end is still not quite right. Yikes. My response to Rose: Interesting. After all these years I've not had ONE animal test strong on Frontline. Not one. Often they'll test strong on Advantage and Program (two I noticed that were not on that EPA list! Ha.) I had never heard of this new Promeris product but Amitraz is a pretty strong drug and is used to treat scabies, demodex and ear mites. The ear mite treatment never seems to work because no one teaches the owners how to clean the ears and what to watch for after they apply it. Real bummer. Thanks Rose. I’ve been putting more of my lists online (http://www.naturalhealthtechniques.com/ExamForms-MedicalIntuitive/exam_forms_list.htm) for all those healers out there that want to use lists to muscle test from like I do. More to come. Eventually I’d like to have my entire book of lists posted for you. I went to our local grocery store and a nice woman there gave me copies of the URM catalogues they use to order product from to stock their shelves. That will save me hours of time because I had been going to the grocery store with a pad and paper and writing down items to include in some of the lists. I modified an essay question so the general reading public would understand it on Breast Cancer in Blood Type A people. That link is: http://www.naturalhealthtechniques.com/SpecificDiseases /Breast_Cancer_Blood_Type_A.htm
And I’ve finally uploaded my extensive handout on Inappropriate Urination in Cats http://www.naturalhealthtechniques.com/Veterinary _Stuff/Inappropriate_Urination_in_Cats.htm and a Questionnaire to support that topic http://www.naturalhealthtechniques.com/Veterinary _Stuff/inappropriate_urination_defecation_questionnaire.htm .
This month’s theme is skin, nails and connective tissue. I thought it would be helpful for you to see a few common human skin conditions veterinarians see in people in their practices—usually we get to see these when they bring in their pet and end up showing you what’s going on as an aside. A few years back I had a case after I had become a naturopath where a mother with four children was on the verge of losing it. Every child she had was presenting with various skin problems. She would call once or twice a week after one or another home remedy had failed. This went on for about three weeks, when during one tearful phone call, I finally said, “Enough is enough. Bring every kid in that has some skin thing going on and we’re going to figure this thing out for you once and for all.” So she did. Kids from age 7 to 14 came with her. “Well Diane here has flea bites for sure” I told her. “See the grouping of bites? The fleas are trying to find a blood vessel so it can feed on the blood to utilize for its eggs. When it doesn’t find a blood vessel it will bite again and again until it hits pay dirt. If we were to see just skin in your dog or cat we’d see that grouping as well. And they are really itchy. The bites will be about ¼ inch to ¾ inch apart and there will be from 3-5 bites clustered in one place. See?: Here’s a picture of what that looks like:
Next. . .” “Ah, well Timmy here has ringworm. Usually the body has to be pretty immune suppressed to get ringworm from just handling soil but more commonly humans pick it up from a baby animal—usually a cat but sometimes a dog. As veterinarians we see this a lot in our practices. I’ve had it a few times myself! ” Here’s an example of what a typical ringworm lesion looks like:
“Ahh” she shared. “We just got a new kitten.” I sent her home with a flea comb to rake the fur for fleas. And since this new kitten had some hair missing from its ear tips and from some of its toes I also sent home some Chlorhexiderm shampoo and Tinea Aid for both Timmy and the kitten. These products work great. Ringworm is actually a fungus and this fungus feeds off of dead skin cells, so if you bathe the area each day and remove the dead skin cells, over time it has nothing to feed on. The Chlorhexiderm helps to sterilize the area and the Tinea Aid is a homeopathic to fortify the immune system so the body will collect the fungus and remove it from the system. She brought the kitten in the next day for a quick peek just to make sure I had the diagnosis correct—I did—and found lots of fleas so we had to talk to her about treating all the pets, her house and her yard—kind of expensive! Ringworm in cats also can cause some missing whiskers and raised dry gray edges of skin around the lesions.:
Then it was Tom’s turn. Mom asked him to drop his pants a bit to show the offending itchy bottom crack on his backside. I couldn’t find an appropriate picture of the particular area he showed me but this is very similar to what I saw. It was more red, moister and had a touch of yellow creamy yeast on the edges. As a matter of fact many of you have seen this in the form of diaper rash. In dogs with floppy ears who have yeast infections it stinks really bad! Kind of sweet smelling. Messy stuff. Often an infection in your dog will happen about 5-7 days after it has been bathed as soap or diluted soap gets down into the ear and disrupts the pH of the ear canal which is normally acid. When this happens the yeast have a heyday and reproduce like crazy. So, as a side note, it’s best to put cotton balls down the ears when you bathe them and then a few drops of white vinegar and water (50/50 dilution) after the bath so that the canals will be acid again. This prevents a yeast infection but Tom’s yeast had a different cause. . .
“That’s yeast. See how moist and red the skin is where the air can’t hit? And it also has a hint of yellow on the sides so it looks like it may have a secondary bacterial contamination to it. See where the center is really pink? It’s usual core cause is an overgrowth of yeast in the gut. Taking antibiotics and eating too much sugar often triggers that gut dysbiosis as we call it.” We sent him home with some dietary restrictions and some Mycological Immune System Stimulator drops, a homeopathic used for yeast and other fungi. We had been working on Jean, her youngest child, for about two weeks by that time. Her skin issue looked like severe, generalized psoriasis caused by emotional distraught. Her skin was so thickened it crinkled in some places and looked like elephant skin in other places. Her face was so bad that you couldn’t see smooth skin beneath it. I suspected emotional causes because of where the eczema was the worst; in the crooks of the arms, behind the knees and on her back. I’m sure she was probably getting too much sugar in her diet as well but since I muscle-tested there were no other core causes to the eczema (like yeast, parasites, nutritional deficiencies or chemical/contact allergies) I taught Jean and her mom how to do emotional clearing work. A month later Jean came in with her mom. I thought it was a different child and didn’t recognize her when she greeted me by name. Her skin was soft, smooth and clear. All signs of her elephant skin were gone! Another easy skin case fits into this section and that is contact allergies. A mother of a two-month-old infant consulted me after having seen her obstetrician. Her baby had a red rash on the entire back half of her body starting from behind the ears and extending down to her feet. The entire front half had no rash. The doctor had sent a tube of antibiotic ointment home for the rash and she was uncomfortable with using it after trying it a couple of days with no success. “So, tell me more how you bathe her” I said after looking at the rash. I also asked about diet, soaps, shampoos, where the baby was set down to nap and exercise. I suspected some kind of contact dermatitis but needed to know exactly what was causing it. She bathed the baby in water only, every day and in a bassinet. “What do you disinfect the bassinet with between baths?” “Nothing” She answered. “Bingo. You’ve got to use something to get rid of the bacteria that’s living on the moist plastic. It grows in the bassinet and then she soaks in it every time you bathe her!” We surmised a bacterial induced rash only on the backside because that’s where her body was in contact with the contaminated water and plastic. She started using a Tea Tree Oil product to disinfect immediately. Within ten days the rash had completely resolved. Helpful Links and References:
Product of the Month: Tinea-Aid (Formerly called Fung-Aid Ringworm drops) Dr. Moffat: Can Gentian Violet help get rid of Ringworm? Susan S Dear Susan: Ummm. No. Not really. What’s needed for eliminating ringworm is to increase immunity, use Chlorhexiderm shampoo, apply iodine or Betadine and treat the pets involved (if you have any and most people usually do when they end up with ringworm.) BUT the best treatment of all is Tinea Aid homeopathic drops from Professional Complementary Health Formulations out of Portland Oregon. You do need to be a client for me to dispense the drops however. But if you're not into becoming a client, you can try the other stuff. Whatever you decide is OK with me! I’ve used these drops for years and have seen quite a few cases of ringworm in humans and hundreds of cases of it in animals. The drops were initially formulated for animals and they are in the veterinary line but it’s a homeopathic--it can be used in humans as well (and it works great). I used to donate a bottle every so often to the animal shelter I worked at and we used it on the staff as well as the kittens that came in with ringworm. Humans and animals alike are dosed orally once or twice a day and then I put a drop or two onto the affected areas and rub it in after first scrubbing the area with soap and water. Be sure if you are applying it to someone besides yourself to wash up well afterwards. Ringworm is fairly contagious especially in the young and immune-suppressed or if the strain of fungus is a real hot one then, just about anything can pick it up. Nasty stuff. What’s in Tinea Aid V3? Ingredients: Apis mellifica 3X, 6X, 12X, 30X, Silicea 6X, Calcarea carbonica, 6X, 12X, 30X, Sepia 6X, 12X, 30X, Sulfur 6X, 12X, 30X,Tellurium 12X, Chrysarobinum 30X,Tinea 30X, 60X, Bacillinum 60X, purified water, 10% USP alcohol and 8% glycerin which makes it kind of sweet so the animals tolerate it better. 2 oz bottle ($15 plus shipping-- but you must be a client for me to dispense it.) For homeopathic aid in treating symptoms associated with ringworm. Hi Dr. Moffat. I have a nail issue on the hard part of the nail—the part that gets painted white when a woman gets a French manicure. I would call it the extension of the nail. The underside of the nail (palm side) is the darker gray (tops are light gray). I have not had my hands in any chemicals, etc. No polish lately. Has me very curious. Thank you in advance for any information you can offer. Barb Dear Barb: Now that is weird. I'm testing a Vitamin B 5 deficiency. Maybe you have other symptoms on the deficiency list that tie this all together? Take a peek. http://www.naturalhealthtechniques.com/Diet_Nutrition/ vitamin_b5_panthothenicacid.htm And if you'd like to explore it further I'd invite you to schedule a consult and let's see what the Guides bring up for you. Good luck. Denice Dr. Moffat what would cause red vertical lines in nail bed. Joe Note: To read more on fingernail health and what the different things mean, go to: http://www.naturalhealthtechniques.com/ExamForms-MedicalIntuitive/fingernail_analysis.htm Good question Joe. I'm not finding anything in my fingernail analysis book but when I then asked my Guides what it could be they said, "virus". Guess you have some work to do! Hope that helps. Denice Hello Dr. Moffat, I just wanted to tell you that your website has the most detailed information about vertical split nails. I have read anywhere from there is nothing you can do about it, to needing to have the nail removed and hope it grows back, etc. I have had a split nail for about 10 years. The nail grows and it gets quite long actually. I have to watch it and sometimes cut it back to the finger so I don't catch it on something. While I can see the split line all the way to the nail bed, it really only starts splitting when it gets past the tip of my finger. So growth is not a problem, just the split - it looks like a small cow hoof once it grows out past the finger tip. I do not use heavy chemical solutions very much at all, and my physician told me I would need to remove the nail. It's only on my left hand pinkie that its split. Does it make a difference as far as health as to which hand it’s on? Thanks Jonna Dear Jonna: It seems that the cells in the cuticle would be damaged for this to happen. I guess you could remove the nail so that fungus doesn't get under the split, but then, you could also try Vick's Vapo Rub and taking protomorphogen/glandulars for connective tissue to see if, over time (say several months) there may be a possibility of the cells regenerating. For more on glandulars read the handout here: http://www.naturalhealthtechniques.com/BasicsofHealth/ glandulars_&_protomorphogens1.htm
I’m thinking that the camphor in Vick’s may stimulate cells to grow by making oxygen more available. It may or may not work. I'm not sure which supplements would be appropriate without a consult. You never know. Stranger things have healed. Thanks for the positive words about my site. Denice Denice: I'm a new subscriber to your newsletter and find it extremely interesting. I can only see the moon on my thumbs and one pointing finger. What does that mean? Julie S Dear Julie: In the Chinese medicine field they tell people that you are predisposed to cancer if you have fewer than eight lunulae. I think these practitioners scare people needlessly (and you will have to admit it would be easier to sell products that way). I see LOTS of people missing those little moons including myself (but I’ve had some pre-cervical cancer in the past). I really don't think that missing a few lunulae is the main indicator of cancer conditions but it may be one little detail in the big picture as far as my experience points to. We'd have to evaluate all the other little details of your life to see where we could tweak things. People WITH cancer often have a flare or little wisp extending from the lunula. I see that quite often on the thumbs of men with prostate cancer. I've personally tried rubbing my fingers on the bed, increasing my breathing rate, meditating, juicing green stuff for 40 days and yet nothing seems to make those moons come up except lots of hand exercise for me. With my vegetarian clients it’s often associated with a protein deficiency. I’ve also read that taking massive doses of Asparagus capsules for long periods of time will help them reappear. I tried one bottle (the Chinese guy sold me two for starters) but it just gave me huge amounts of gas. Now, I didn’t test strong on them in the first place, but I figured I’d give it a go anyway—exactly what I tell my clients NOT to do! Sometimes we need to be our own guinea pigs. And sometimes excess asparagus can cause some potassium imbalances in the body which isn’t so good (too much potassium stored actually.) Missing lunulae can also be associated with anemia, poor circulation, fatigue, heart disease, nervous system imbalances, memory loss, numbness, stress, vitamin A deficiencies and “weak spirit.” Hey Dr. D: I need some myrrh gum powder. My nails are extremely thin and weak, bend with movement and tear easily. When in water for a while, they are transparent. Where can I get this myrrh gum powder? I have slight vertical ridges the length of most of my nails from bed to tip. They are generally pink; however there is a slight red tinge at the finger where the nail extends from. Hester in Texas Dear Hester: Why do you think myrrh gum powder will help your nails? Myrrh is better suited for people with nail fungus (mutated yeast within the body). A better choice would be horsetail herb. You can get it at your local health food store. It's high in silica, which will help the nails. I'm muscle-testing there are three other core causes for your challenge though. The red lines on the nails indicate that your liver is not keeping up with detox. You may also be experiencing signs of hemorrhoids, glaucoma, spider veins, varicose veins, hepatitis, and deep-seated anger and resentment with lines like that as these are all symptoms associated with a sick liver. I suspect you have lots going on. I really can't do any more on email. It would take an appointment (phone consult). Hope that helps you some, though. Denice Note: To read more about what your nails tell you, go to: http://www.naturalhealthtechniques.com/ExamForms-MedicalIntuitive/fingernail_analysis.htm Do I sip or gulp my water for best results? Dr. Denice: My acupuncturist told me that the (Kidney/Spleen) fatigue might be experiencing may have been brought on by my water guzzling. She told me to sip my water. Too much at once tires the kidneys. Is that your opinion also? Li M. Dear Li: Your acupuncturist is correct as far as what I’ve learned over the years. The analogy I was taught is this: Say you are pouring water on a dry sponge. Most of the water doesn’t even absorb into the sponge. It just splashes off. But if the sponge is already moist or you pour the water onto it little dribbles at a time, the sponge will accept the water much more readily. And some practitioners even say that drinking with intention is very important. So, let’s say you are aged and have eyes that don’t focus as quickly as they used to so things look a bit blurry (they call this presbyopia). As you sip your water, put your hand up to the eyes and visualize the water rehydrating the lenses of your eyes and the ciliary muscles that help the lens to relax and tighten. I don’t know how well this works in the big scheme of things, but it can’t hurt. Help! I've lost all my body hair! I'm a 50 year old woman and my hair has fallen out and all body hair is gone! I was diagnosed with both alopecia areata universalis and hypothyroidism. I have had hair loss problems all my life but the last four years it hasn't come back. Is there an herb that could make it come back? Dear Help! I’m so sorry but there is no simple cure for that. It looks like you'll need a lot of work including a total cleansing program and a 5-day water only fast for the yeast component of that particular disease. I suspect a myriad of core causes that will take time to unravel. Look into yeast, parasites, mineral deficiencies (especially zinc and copper), visualization, and past life issues. I have a healer friend who experienced this level of hair loss (only the hair loss was overnight) after an alien encounter. One day he had hair and the next morning it all fell out! Possibly due to the radiation from the UFO? Of course his hair is not back and he wears a wig, false eyebrows and false eyelashes every day! Some cases are just tough to repair I guess. I could bet he's tried almost everything and most likely he's in the healing field because of that exploration process. Some things are just a gift in our lives in that way. If you are committed to doing some tough things for your health, you could set up a phone consult with me, or you could try delving into these suggestions first. I can't make any promises, but I suspect you are pretty sick. It's totally up to you.
Denice:
I have become more aware of hair loss and dandruff, since our checkup. My
mom gave me some dandruff shampoo to try. Is this a good way of working on hair
loss and dandruff? David
Louise Hay has an exercise which I may have shared with you. Several times a day, breathe, get still, and say, "Scalp Relax" to get the blood flow back to the hair follicles. Some people just have stages where their hair falls out. Others have nutritional deficiencies, parasites, stress, and hormonal imbalances which affect the hair loss. We should check that out during your next phone consult. Dr. Moffat, could you click on the link below (Linda sent me a picture from a blog she was in but it wouldn’t save so I researched out some pictures that looked similar which were from a mom in Reno - via the Reno autism group. If you could just give a quick response. My Best! Linda Dear Linda: The cause of twenty-nail dystrophy (examples below) is unknown
Picture Reference: http://www.dermnet.com/thumbnailIndex.cfm?moduleID=13&moduleGroupID=413&groupIndex=0&numcols=0 but in some cases it appears to be associated with other skin conditions such as lichen planus (I’m testing this is yeast 100%), eczema (testing yeast 80%), psoriasis (testing yeast 90%) and alopecia areata (testing yeast 91%). In some cases an autosomal dominant pattern of inheritance has been found; in one report twenty-nail dystrophy occurred in 4 males in 3 successive generations. Other cases of twenty-nail dystrophy are of unknown origin and begin gradually in early childhood. These cases tend to be self-limiting and may resolve slowly with age. Uh. . .my best bet would be yeast! I've seen this before and the people I saw with the challenge really had awful diets (lots of breads, pop, and sugar) and had a history of lots of antibiotics. Mental challenges as well (I think secondarily to the yeast). It's a bugger! It’s easier to tell you what the core cause is than to take it away for her. How do you get an autistic child to do a 5-day water only fast? Then permanent dietary changes? Then have the patience to watch healthy nails grow from the beds which takes about 3-months to confirm the core cause? Hope that helps. Hi Dr Moffat: I have another problem with Bridget's skin. She develops a crusty, dark grayish patch on her left side, midway between front and back legs. It feels like a scab and when I bathe her it softens up and can be washed away with a water spray or toweling. Underneath the scab (?) her skin is raw and red. It doesn't seem to be sore. Next day it starts getting crusty again. My daughter gave me some medicated Ketoconazole shampoo 2%, which I used for the second time today, but the scab seemed to re-grow to the same size. What is your professional advice if you have enough info. Thank you. Ginny M. Dear Ginny: Well it sounds like a hot spot (kind of) Ginny, but tapping into Bridget’s energy field, I test it isn't that. Hot spots are usually at the tail base or behind the ear. Often endocrine problems cause the increased pigmentation on the side area that you are talking about but they are not usually associated with the crusty thing that comes back when you wash it off. She doesn't test strong on the ketoconozole. Does she scratch there or do you see her chewing the area? I'm testing yeast. How about this. . . Do you have a health food store handy? Can you get some light oil (like cold -pressed sesame) and put a few drops of myrrh essential oil in it and massage the area once a day for a week or two? If you can't find any Myrrh essential oil I may have some here and can send that. Check and see. Mailing essential oils is kind of a trick because often they will leak during transit. OK? Denice |

A Treatise in Urine
Therapy
Premarin is a
hormone women take for estrogen imbalance which is made of pregnant mare’s
urine. Hmmm. I can’t imagine. Why drink a horse’s urine when you can drink your
own? I’m just kidding—kind of.
A mentor of mine,
Shirley Lipshutz of
www.shirleyswellnescafe.com
told me once that the page on her site that got the most hits was the Urine
Therapy page! Of course maybe it has to do with some disgusting YouTube links
showing how animals drink their own urine (I’ll let you explore those on your
own if you like), but that got me to thinking about a few of my clients over the
years who shared their urine drinking stories with me.
This month’s media
review is on that therapy and I’ll admit I’ve never tried this therapy although
my brother Don has told me in the past, “Denice, you have to experience
everything” and that’s just not so but as with all alternative treatments the
public can’t ask about them or try them without first knowing about them. There
are lots of books on urine therapy out there.
The title of the
book on urine therapy that I read is A Treatise in Urine Therapy
by John W. Armstrong. Let me tell you that any book title with the word Treatise
in the title is tedious reading but this book wasn’t so bad. John (not a doctor)
describes how he supervised the healing of 96 different people who chose urine
therapy as part of their healing process—some of them ingesting disgusting
looking urine as their only healing modality after the medical system had given
them up for dead.
John writes:
“Drinking your own urine acts to cleanse the body, free it from obstruction and
rebuild vital organs damaged from disease.” The kidney is an amazing organ
filtering components in the urine. Did you know that your urine varies with the
foods you eat, the season of the year and that you only produce ¼ to ½ of your
urine volume during sleeping hours? Well, it’s true.
“The prime cause of
disease is the absence of substances which should be in the body and the
presence of substances which should not be in the body” John writes.
Mr. John Anderson is
convinced that drinking provides the body with much needed cell salts. Actually
his discussion of cell salts was really pretty good if you have any interest in
learning more about that. He’s also convinced that the body’s own urine acts as
a homeopathic remedy to detoxify the body and repair the lungs, pancreas, liver,
brain, heart, bowels and linings of the body. He believes that drinking your own
urine accomplishes what mere fasting with water or juices cannot and explains
the entire process in full detail in this 136 page book.
His introduction to
drinking his own urine was when he became so ill that several doctors no longer
felt it useful to treat him. He had what they called in those days, consumption.
Well, when you don’t have the energy to do anything you have a lot of time to
think. Being a religious sort of fellow it came to him while reading Proverbs V
that “Drink waters of thine own cistern” meant that we should drink our own
urine to be in optimal health. So he spent the next 45 days doing just that.
John also rubbed
urine onto his own body—maybe he thought he was anointing himself? Who knows,
but the treatment worked and he has helped heal many others with urine therapy
over the years.
Some diseases he’s
treated with urine therapy include:
Gangrene, cancers of various kinds, Bright’s disease, leukemia, heart disease,
malaria and fevers, orchitis, venereal disease, bed sores and burns, the common
cold, hemorrhoids, blindness and cataracts.
He noted that
arthritis and diabetes were harder to cure with urine therapy but that urine had
no side effects and was the only food needed for sick people. Hmmm. No side
effects? Well, I guess that’s a matter of opinion. I don’t know how many friends
you’d have after you told them that you drank everything that came out of you
and I don’t know too many spouses who would want to kiss a urine permeated
partner very often—at least that’s what I’ve been told!
I once was brought
in on an animal abuse case where the dog was left in its 4 x 8 food cyclone dog
kennel for two weeks without food and water. The dog literally drank its own
urine to survive. Very sad. After bathing it three times there was still a urine
stench to that dog for several weeks. I’m sure that drinking volumes of your own
urine would have that same affect.
Of course if your
doctor tells you that you’re going to die and has given up on you this opens up
the mind to alternative treatments of all kinds. In my practice I see a lot of
people with open minds.
Definitely not a
book for the squeamish.

Petrochemical
allergies and causes:
Stacey Mayo, (author
of I Can’t Believe I Get PAID to Do This
http://www.igetpaidtodothis.com
), and I were discussing the three most common symptoms of petrochemical
allergies. They are: while driving you get sleepy, get the munchies and the
smell of diesel just nauseates you. While we have a homeopathic we use, she
recently heard a different reason for this allergy showing up. “Someone
told me that the petroleum sensitivity was about being tired of taking on
people’s sludge and that some of those particular health problems were from
taking on other people’s energy.” Hmmm. . .a symbolic core cause. Sounds like
something Louise Hay would figure out! Thanks Stacey.
Egg
shells in your scrambled eggs—Don’t
you just hate it when that happens? But did you know that if you can use the
empty shell to scoop the broken piece out from the cracked egg much more easily
than if you were to try to fish it out with your fingers or a utensil? I don’t
know why that is, but it works great. Try it next time.
Dr. D.
Thanks
for the kick in the pants. I’ve chosen a couple of books you recommended
to read since I consulted with you last week...and I got the application for HSU
in the mail a couple of days ago so I'm filling that out now. My face is
already almost completely clear again, the hole in my tongue is almost gone and
I have a date on Thursday! I've been trying to think more positively about
things and it seems to be working. H.C.
Hi Dr. Moffat,
Thank you for checking in. That was very kind. My son’s skin problem seemed to
be getting better the first couple days. I expected him to get worse and boy,
he did. He got TERRIBLE for a few days. (See Healing crisis handout on this
detoxification process—glad I forewarned her!
http://www.naturalhealthtechniques.com/BasicsofHealth/
healing_crisis_process.htm
) I took him to our family physician and told him what you had said. I asked
him to take some tests. The night prior Thomas cried all night the he hurt so
bad, but he couldn't tell me where or what was hurting. : ( Anyway, yesterday
when I picked him up from daycare I noticed marked improvement in his skin. He
has been sleeping so well the last few nights and feels much better. He loves
his spleen in chocolate milk. Is that okay? I can't remember do I split up the
9 drops of flower drops in the day or give all at once? Thanks so much. Candy
Denice’s note:
You can take up to 17 drops at one time for homeopathics. Any more than that and
your body seems to waste it. Larger amounts need to be broken up into more than
one dose.

I’m growing a lunula! Woohoo! I am growing a lunulae on my left index finger!!
It’s itty-bitty, but it’s there! Angela
Hello Denice!
Great news - wow - the pain is nearly gone! In fact, it's almost,
well...creepy? how fast my hands improved after beginning the silicone detox. How
does that homeopathic stuff work? It makes a lot of sense the silicone is a
great contributor to my overall wellness (or lack of it, rather) and I'll be
better than new when the treatment is over. How long shall I continue on the
silicone drops?
THANK YOU for the
book. Stunning how all the maladies I have and have had are all about the same
thing! I've work to do, to be sure, but a HUGE % is recognizing the problem,
don't you agree? I'm thrilled with the results of the changes I've made so far
which include (in addition to your "check-up" and pep talk) reading the book,
taking the supplements, and deciding to stop work for a period of time. Repeat:
All "work" stopping until further notice. :-D
Denice’s Note:
Sometimes I include cheerleader/pep talk in my consults then feel the need to
follow up. I don’t even remember what book I sent this person but I always feel
so blessed to make a difference in people’s lives.
Hi Denice,
I seem to be doing pretty darn well, I'm glad to report. My skin is the
clearest it's been in years, knock on wood, so I am very excited about that. I
just had a couple questions for you. First is I'm about to run out of rutin -
can I just get some at a nearby health food place (yes), and are there any
particular brands I should look out for? (I use Thompson brand but sometimes
it’s hard to find so do the best you can.) Thanks! Alisa
Recipe of the Month:
Earth Cake
I dug out my old recipes and made this for my birthday this year
as we were having company. Gosh it tasted good!
Earth Cake
1 ½ cups boiling Water
1 cup Organic Rolled Oats
¾ cup Whole Raw Sesame Seeds
½ cup Cooking Oil (I use Sesame Oil)
1 teaspoon powdered Ginger
1 ½ cups Organic Flour of some kind (I use Spelt)
1 ½ teaspoon ground Cinnamon
1 teaspoon Aluminum-free Baking Soda
½ cup Poppy Seeds
½ cup Organic Granulated Sugar (I use Cane Sugar as Beet Sugar has
sulfites in it)
3 Eggs
1 ½ cups chopped raw organic Apples
1 cup Raisins
1 cup chopped raw Nuts ( use almonds or cashews)
½ teaspoon Celtic Sea Salt
1 teaspoon Cloves
1 teaspoon Cardamom
1 teaspoon Pure Vanilla Extract
Optional:
1
tablespoon Brandy
Put all the liquids
into the mixing bowl and beat for a minute or two. Mix all the dry stuff
together, then spoon it into the liquid mixture. Add the nuts and fruits last
then pour mixture into a greased and floured baking pan.
It’s a little too
much for a 9 x 13” pan as the center doesn’t get cooked enough so I use one 9 x
13” and put the extra into a 9 x 9 pan. It freezes well.
Bake in 350 degree
preheated oven 45- 50 minutes or until puffy in center and toothpick comes out
clean. I also watch to see when the edges of the cake come just slightly away
from the pan because the toothpick can sometimes come out dry and the cake still
isn’t done if the batter was not put into two pans. Cool and frost with Cream
Cheese Frosting (below). This is a nice, dark, heavy cake.
Cream Cheese
Frosting:
½ cup room temperature Organic Butter
1 (8 ounce) package softened Philadelphia Cream Cheese
1 pound Powdered Sugar
1 teaspoon Pure Vanilla Extract
Place all
ingredients in a mixer and beat until creamy. Apply to cooled cake.

Too Good To Pass Up:
Last month I featured several links to videos too good to pass up. I was blessed
to receive yet another awesome link this month from a client in Connecticut.
Thanks Helen for this one:

From the Files of
Abraham:
It's not necessary for you to exacerbate your contrast with struggle in order to
get it into a higher place. It is not necessary to suffer in order to give birth
to desire. But when you have suffered and you have given birth to desire, so
what? You've got a desire. Turn your attention to the desire. Think about where
you're going and never mind where you've been. Don't spend any more time
justifying any of that stuff.

The only thing that makes the difference in the way you feel right now is the
thought that you are thinking right now. It doesn't matter how much money you've
got; there are joyful people with no money, and there are unhappy people with
lots of money. How you feel is about how you are allowing the Source that is You
to flow. So when we talk about the Art of Allowing, we're talking about the art
of living; about the art of thriving; about the art of clarity. We're talking
about the art of being who you really are.

Jackie Lawson Card of the Month
I just love her stuff!
Summer is here at
last. Michael went to visit his son, daughter-in-law and granddaughter in
Missouri. While he was away I was weeding a front garden bed and decided I’d
better paint the house first. Had to paint it between rain showers. What a
bummer. Didn’t quite finish so I’ve been painting after hours and between
appointments. It’s looking pretty spiffy now. I’ll post a picture on the home
page soon.
The first week in
June I went to a seminar in Connecticut called Personalized Medicine in Form
and Function for the Genotype Diet training with Dr. Peter D’Adamo (Eat
Right 4 Your Type author) given by his Institute for Human Individuality. He’s
will soon introduce a new program coming out called the SWAMI program where you
input certain data and it performs 20 million computations on the data. You can
view and order some of those tests here:
http://www.northamericanpharmacal.com
/affiliates/drmoffat.php Results will offer what you need to eat and why,
what foods you need to eliminate and why with shopping lists and recipes; about
45 pages in all.
I decided to take
the training because the Blood Type Diet worked on all but about 15% of my
cases—the really tough cases. I think his new program will help them. I’ll let
you know more about it when it’s up and running without a hitch. Michael and I
are volunteering to be on that first wave of healers after the two-years of beta
testing. I had to take a test to get certification. Part of the test was an
essay question so that’s how the Breast Cancer in Blood Type A people webpage
came to be. I figured you all should get some benefit out of my education right
away.
So far we’ve found
out that we’re really stressed, that we’re both Blood Type O positive and that
we both fit into the Gatherer category according to the book, so I went to our
Co-op and purchased a bunch of new foods we can use to make us healthy and
happy. I’m waiting for those recipes. . .
We’ve claimed ground
for a berry patch and got 23 blueberry bushes planted and protected individually
with deer netting now. I noticed a deer in the middle of the patch the next
morning checking it out. They’re inquisitive little creatures. Every time we do
something to the property they’ve got to come close to see what’s up. I love
watching them but really don’t want to contribute to their smorgasbord so we’re
continuing to get fencing in and there’s the biggest Indian Paint plant anyone
has ever seen growing in the area just in front of our house. A fellow grower
has suggested saving the seed and trying to grow them for next year. Another
neighbor told us the plants have a parasitic relationship with the grass growing
around them and if you remove them from the grass that they will die. Gee, I
hope that isn’t true because my brother is coming soon to help us sculpt the
property with a track hoe and bobcat and I don’t want to have to build
everything around that one plant!
And we made a Straw
Bale garden bed this last month. It’s kind of a spin on the lasagna gardening
technique. You make a four foot wide bed of straw bales as long as you want then
lay down a couple layers of cardboard then put a thick layer of twigs, pulled
weeds, sawdust, manure and a top layer of soil. We used some of the soil we
harvested from the place where we got our greenhouse as they were going to push
a huge pile of used potting soil into the ditch. Then you plant stuff in the
soil layer and put some chopped straw around the plants as mulch. In two years
you have several cubic yards of wonderful compost filled with earthworms! It
looks like it’s going to work. I’ve tried the lasagna method but it just wasn’t
thick enough and grass and weeds started to grow up almost immediately. If you
want to read more about that go to:
http://www.strawbalegardens.com where there’s a picture. I tried the video
but it doesn’t seem to have sound.
The Johnson Parade,
7/4/09, is one of those fantastic parades that involves no marketing or
promotion or pre-planning and is the best parade in the area. No contact person,
you just show up sometime before 10a.m. and they will check you in. When you
arrive determines where you are in the parade. There is a breakfast from 6 to 10
a.m. before the parade. There are only a few buildings in town to choose from
but it is the Grange Hall on the North end of town. Michael and I will be in the
parade this year showing off his 2009 Kinetico 1949 delivery truck look-alike.
We hope to see you there! It’s a must-see event! Bring a lawn chair and come
early.
MaryJane’s July 4th
Celebration:
July 3-5, 2009. If you’re into a road trip for this holiday this is a 171 mile
road trip starting in beautiful Coeur D’Alene, Idaho you may want to take in.
It’s a first time event road event in 1920’s style for MaryJane Butters. She
usually has a big tent celebration on her farm which has really been fun in the
past. She’s always coming up with something new and wonderful. Her new store in
downtown Moscow, ID just opened in May across from the Saturday Market. For
more information go to:
http://www.maryjanesfarm.com/FarmFair2009
Big Yard Sale:
Saturday July 11th is the Colfax, WA community yard sale. That sounds
like fun if your into that. Last year I found a big, thick plastic tube that
used to be a fish bowl that I could cut down to make bird feeders. You just
never know what you’ll find.
That’s
it for this Month!
