(Please note that full names are never used in this newsletter or on my website without the full consent of the sender or client. Some cases also encompass groupings of cases with similar symptoms and suggestions for healing in an attempt to educate the general public.) From the Desk of Dr. Moffat: Thanks to so many of you for letting me know my link was not updated from the last newsletter! I tell you, I just don't know what I would do without my faithful following. I give great blessings for them taking the extra time to ask questions and point out broken links. I had a feeling I missed something with all the stuff I had to do to get that last newsletter out!
It's kind of crazy around here during newsletter time. My list of tasks includes:
· Researching and writing the articles · Finding awesome content-rich resource links · Ferreting out original sources · Rewriting · Having Michael read and edit the final draft · Setting the articles · Updating the archive and index · Inserting the printer friendly version · Remembering to copy/paste into the current page · Setting the index page · Selecting key works · Creating an email auto-responder to go out, etc. etc. The whole process from start to finish most times takes more than 24 working hours to several weeks. Sometimes just gets a bit overwhelming trying to write and build these newsletters in between calls, appointments, cooking, taking care of the pets and all those other daily (normal) activities. And this month I went into the newsletter distributor website and found I have 658 people that have signed up but didn’t know how to opt in somehow! Egads! I’m working to rectify that challenge. I had no idea! Apparently I did not link the Sign-Up link to the Opt-In link. My head is swimming. Anyway, thank you and I hope you enjoy this month’s newsletter on “Weird Cases.” Some of these cases are just so weird that I felt a picture was worth a thousand words—OK, so I included a LOT of pictures this month. As you can see I’ve been doing themes lately. It just seems I get runs of similar questions and categories. I had a really fun time preparing this newsletter. I’m into it. Enjoy. Denice September is the Month for Blue-Green Algae Poisoning Boise – The Idaho State Department of Agriculture (ISDA) and the Idaho Department of Fish and Game wish to alert the public, especially ranchers, hunters and outdoor enthusiasts about the dangers of blue-green algae bloom. Blue-green algae blooms commonly are found in ponds, lakes and streams where water is warm and slow moving. They generally can be identified by the appearance of floating layers of scum resembling pea soup. When the algae bloom, they can naturally produce toxins which can be deadly when ingested. Pet and livestock owners should avoid allowing animals to swim or drink water if algae are visible. Nine Montana cattle recently died within minutes of drinking lake water with blue-green algae "bloom". An eyewitness said the cattle died only a few feet from the water source. "In past years, Idaho has documented cases of blue-green algae bloom deaths, and with the current drought conditions experienced this year, some water supplies may be primed for toxic blooms," said Dr. Greg Ledbetter, state veterinarian for the ISDA. "If pond scum is present I would recommend keeping pets out of the water and finding alternate water sources for livestock," Ledbetter said. Idaho Fish and Game cautions that hunters using dogs early in the bird seasons need to be careful about allowing their dogs to drink from algae-contaminated pools. In recent years, at least one hunting dog has died and others sickened after drinking from stagnant pools in the Hells Canyon area. Dogs are particularly susceptible to blue-green algae poisoning because the scum can attach to dogs’ coats and be swallowed during self-cleaning. Blue-green algae are expected to bloom until the first frost of fall. Potential Signals of Serious Risks/New Safety Information Identified by the Adverse Event Reporting System (AERS) January - March 2008 The table below lists 22 names of products and potential signals of serious risks/new safety information that were identified for these products during the period January - March 2008 in the AERS database. “The appearance of a drug on this list does not mean that FDA has concluded that the drug has the listed risk. It means that FDA has identified a potential safety issue, but does not mean that FDA has identified a causal relationship between the drug and the listed risk” says the FDA website. “Food and Drug Administration officials said they are trying to walk a fine line in being more open to the public while avoiding needless scares. Congress, in a drug safety bill passed last year, ordered the agency to post quarterly listings of medications under investigation” says Ricardo Alonso-Zaldivar in his article on this topic written for the Associated Press. "My message to patients is this: Don't stop taking your medicine," said Dr. Janet Woodcock, who heads the FDA's Center for Drug Evaluation and Research. " Drugs with Potential Safety Problems Include: Drugs under investigation by the Food and Drug Administration, what they are used for and the potential problem: · R-Gene 10, a growth hormone, pediatric overdose caused by labeling/packaging confusion. · Suprane, an anesthetic, cardiac arrest. · Cymbalta, for depression and other conditions, urinary retention. · Intelence, an HIV medication, bleeding into joints. · Carac and Kuric, creams for skin conditions and fungal infections, name confusion. · Heparin, a blood-thinner, serious allergic reactions. · Extraneal, used in kidney dialysis, low blood sugars. · Humulin R (U-500), insulin for diabetes, dosing confusion. · Stromectol and Warfarin, an anti-parasite drug and a blood thinner, drug interaction. · Tykerb, for advanced breast cancer, liver damage. · Revlimid, for multiple myeloma, severe skin blistering and bleeding. · Tysabri, for multiple sclerosis, skin melanomas. · Nitrostat, for angina, overdose caused by labeling confusion. · Sandostatin LAR, for abnormal bone growth, bowel obstruction. · Oxycontin, a painkiller, drug misuse, abuse and overdose. · Definity, used in cardiac imaging, cardiopulmonary reactions. · Dilantin injection, for epileptic seizures, serious skin reaction. · Seroquel, for bipolar disorder, overdose caused by sample pack labeling confusion. · Tyzeka, for chronic hepatitis B, nerve damage. · Tumor Necrosis Factor Blockers, for juvenile arthritis, cancers in children and young adults. I’ve updated the Diet & Nutrition and Coaching Corner sections, added a few articles and put summaries of each document in this section on the main Diet & Nutrition page to make it easier to see if those articles would be pertinent for my readers. A big thanks to Sara Roeder for the List of Baby Foods and Formulas that are now posted under exam forms. Lists like these help so much when we’re trying to track down food allergies. And I’ve been sending out quite a few hard copies of the famous Tooth Chart—a chart someone divined that shows the energetic relationship of each tooth to the body—kind of like a reflexology chart only for the mouth. So I grabbed the best copy I could (thanks to a client who sent it to me) to post for you to see. Morgellon’s Disease I’ve been fielding calls from potential clients and other practitioners for a very strange set of symptoms these last few months. There’s a new disease out there and it’s called Morgellon’s Disease. As a matter of fact, a 12-person task force at the Center for Disease Control has been assigned to this new challenge. It was brought to their attention by the public, health care providers, public health officials, Congress and the media. So far, results have been inconclusive. As of October 29, 2008, 13,024 families have registered with the Morgellons Research Foundation (MRF) (Reference: http://www.morgellons.org) and felt they or a member of their family met criteria for Morgellons as defined by the MRF. Of the U.S. families in the MRF registry, 24% reside in California with geographic clustering in the San Francisco metropolitan areas. I’m fielding cases from all over the United States though. A 63—year-old African American woman who was the sole bread winner and matriarch of her family was walking down a big city street in the southern Midwest near an Asian restaurant one day and a bug flew up her nose. Well, a couple of weeks after that, she felt itching—like parasites were crawling on her skin and hair. Eventually she could see little bugs crawling out of her skin. The itching increased in intensity to encompass 24-hours a day and she could barely get any rest. She called in a local exterminator twice and had the house treated but the parasites only continued to grow inside her. She took herbs, supplements and applied several things topically to no avail. Trip after trip to several doctors who found nothing finally landed her in a mental institution. The only way she got achieved being released, she shared with me, was to tell people that she no longer saw the bugs and no longer itched. “It took all I had to keep from scratching just to get myself out of there” she said. “But I still itch.” (I’ve heard some people seeing up to 20 different doctors for Morgellons.) She sent me samples which she had picked off her skin, scalp and coat in a 7-compartment pill box but when I looked at them all I saw were some balls of lint. Imagine my surprise when I put a specimen under the microscope and saw the typical Morgellon’s fibers! They looked pretty much like this:
I was really jazzed on finding out what this actually was, so I did some research and footwork and came up with the Morgellon’s possibility. At first I forwarded these types of cases to the Center for Disease Control, mycologists, parasitologists, entomologists and to their local health departments but they shared with me that no one was willing to help them. How hard could this be to get people excited about the possibility of discovering a new disease and learning more about it I thought—so I spent a day following leads: I started in the veterinary department at Washington State University. They sent me to the parasitology department, who sent me to the entomology department. It was here where I got the most information. Apparently the entomologists have been seeing the most cases of this Morgellon’s syndrome. They’ve spend a lot of time as a group trying to help people with this disease and even speak about it at their conventions. The conclusion (much to the relief of the entomologist I talked to for about an hour) was that they should send these people back to their doctors, that they can’t do anything about it and are wasting their time, that some people actually DO have parasites on their bodies (this entomologist found a cockroach egg in the samples I brought to him which I almost had to force on him to take a look at under his microscope). He did share with me that there was a medical doctor who had received a grant to study this disease but he couldn’t remember her name. Upon hours of additional research, I think he was talking about the grant given to Kaiser Permanente (Reference: http://www.naturalnews.com/023004.html ). I left him my card and he said he’d get back to me. He didn’t. Apparently people are just too busy to get sucked into the volumes of time it would take to figure this thing out. Very discouraging. If any of my readers know a resource for this person studying the disease, please let me know and I’ll post it here. History of Morgellon’s Disease: The Center for Disease Control has been receiving as many as 20 calls/day from self-diagnosed Morgellon’s patients for some time now. Morgellon’s (pronounced more-GELL-uns) was named in 2001 by a Morgellons biologist, Mary Leitao. A South Carolina woman whose son suffers from the condition, Mary had researched the symptoms her son had and ferreted out a French medical paper written on a disease they called Morgellons in 1674 describing similar symptoms so began using that name. The name stuck. Mary founded the Morgellons Research Foundation (http://www.morgellons.org) which is now known as a leading source of information and research advocacy. The challenge these poor people are having is that, since it is not an official disease written up in the medical texts, the practitioners out in the field are treating these types of cases like the patient has delusional parasitosis—with antidepressants and antipsychotic drugs. Delusional Parasitosis (DP) is a psychosis in which sufferers believe they are infected with parasites. Patients may present their doctors or healers with clothing lint, pieces of skin, or other debris contained in plastic wrap, on adhesive tape or in matchboxes (this is called the matchbox or Saran-wrap sign). They typically state that these contain the parasites, but none can be identified upon microscopic inspection. Patients may have no obvious mental impairments and primary skin lesions are not present although they may have linear crusts, erosions, prurigo nodularis (large nodules that itch) or ulcers. Delusional parasitosis has been associated with schizophrenia, obsessive compulsive disease, bipolar disorder, depression and anxiety disorders and DP occurs primarily in white middle-aged or older women although it has been reported in all age groups and in men. Often the patient has a real-life problem with scabies, lice, or some other external parasite. They imagine they are continually being attacked even after the parasite has been treated and the area fumigated. This delusion can be shared with family members having the same symptoms. I’ll admit, after and hour on the phone with one person sharing her history I was having a difficult time not wondering about the other rule outs such as drugs, schizophrenia and psychosis! I had one woman call that had similar signs to Morgellon’s but upon getting a more detailed history she also had an alien encounter. I referred her to MUFON (Mutual UFO Network: www.mufon.com) because in addition to typical Morgellons symptoms, she had a boil behind her ear which only appeared after an encounter with what she thought to be an alien. Boils in this area of the body have sometimes been associated with an alien implant or probe according to those who are into this kind of thing (something I’m not qualified to handle in my practice). Other parts of the body that are common areas for implants include the neck, forearms, up the nose and outside the hip area. Fun stories associated with this kind of stuff, and believe me when I tell you that I’ve heard lots of them from all kinds of people who practice all kinds of religions. I think people feel comfortable enough with me to tell me the stories they wouldn’t normally tell anyone. I have a great job. I don’t remove implants (so please don’t ask) and it’s really hard to find a doctor who will remove one of these things! Want to read more? Here is one link and one You Tube video on alien implants and probes. I like the video as it depicts a good overall view on what people think and how they feel about having an implant. And it has some pretty good footage of what they look like under the skin, too! So, back to Morgellons. . .Although Morgellon’s has not been proven to be fatal, it can drive one to suicide I suppose. It has been known to go into spontaneous remission. Here’s a list of symptoms associated with Morgellons (in alphabetical order):
One doesn’t need to have all these symptoms to have Morgellons and I’ve used the wording I found in my research so some of the symptoms are the same. And many of these symptoms are associated with a myriad of other diseases of course—except those fibers. . . Morgellons fibers have been evaluated by forensic labs and do not match up to carpet, clothing or other synthetic fibers. They have been described as elongated coenocytic (aseptate), smooth-walled, branching fibers like this:
Or granules, threads or filamentous objects up to several millimeters long often seen as zig zag patterns or twisted into balls or what appear to be bundles of fibers growing within the skin. These fibers can be extremely sharp, even penetrating the nails. They can be as fine as spider silk, yet strong enough to distend the skin when you pull them. They do not fit into the same category as a fungus. The fibers are most often white but are also consistently seen as blue, black and rarely red. The fibers exhibit a high degree of autofluorescence and are not textile fibers.
Here is a picture of
Morgellons fibers taken from a child’s lip skin.
Image above: Objects emerging from lesion on child's lip at 200x Some “Treatments” Tried for Morgellons Disease: People are desperate to stop the itch of this disease and have tried so many things. Some of them work initially (placebo effect?) and then stop working. Other treatments include toxic and potentially dangerous use of products including strong insecticides. Some of these treatments have included:
All to no avail. One woman I talked to slathered her entire body in some type of natural toothpaste which she said worked for a few hours. She was discouraged that her local health food store only carried eight tubes of it though and it was expensive. Theories on the cause of Morgellons Disease: --Fungal origin: Researcher Ahmed Kilani says he was able to break down two fiber and extract their DNA and that he found the DNA belonged to a fungus. (Reference: http://www.naturalnews.com/023004.html ) --Bacterial cause: Some researchers think Morgellons could be caused by a bacteria although the fibers are more consistent with a fungal infection --Pollutants: Possibly human hair follicles are somehow encapsulated with pollutants processed by the body. --Genetically Modified Organisms: There have been many articles written about this theory. An article written by Whitley Strieber, “Skin Disease May Be Linked to GM Food’ is flying around the internet these days. I can’t locate that original reference for you. One biochemist, Vitaly Citovsky, discovered a substance called Agrobacterium, which is commercially used to produce genetically modified plants. (Reference: http://morgellonswatch.com/2007/02/24/ clarification-from-vitaly-citovsky)
The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) has given care giant Kaiser Permanente over $300,000 to test and interview 150 to 500 patients suffering from Morgellons Disease. The study will be done in northern California where many Morgellons patients live. --Pesticides, chemicals or food additives are combining with human DNA to change or produce the protein, connective tissue or subcutaneous tissues in the body to make these fibers. There are now cases of Morgellons in all 50 of the United States and it is also being found in other countries. There seems to be a pool of cases in Southern California, Texas and Florida and this is one reason this theory persists. These are states that produce huge amounts of edible produce and who use lots of chemicals in that process. --Disease of the mind: I don’t buy into this theory that Morgellons disease is all in people’s heads. I don’t believe it’s simply psychological. My own theory is that GMO soy or Splenda could be the culprit. I believe in the Occam’s Razor Principle that states, “All other things being equal, the simplest solution is the best.” I even stocked up on my stash of Professional Complementary Health Formulations homeopathic Artificial Sweetener Detox Drops (See Product of the Month for March, ‘08) that removes Splenda from the body. Technically speaking, these drops are a Xenobiotic Combination which is an antibiotic chemical substance not produced by the body, and thus foreign to it. Xenobiotics are engineered to assist bodily detoxification of the increased toxic load our environment brings. I’m ready for the next case. I have questions I need to have answered though. For example, I wonder if those people affected have connective tissue that easily responds to perms. I wonder if some of the connective tissue sulfur bonds are combining with something in the diet then eventually the body fibers act like a perm and spring. Is this the reason why these fibers pop out of the skin then dive back under as you grab at them? So many of these cases involve little babies. How do they get something as awful as this at such a young age without having a common connection? What are these kids eating? Are they on soy-based formulas? Have they been to the doctor and been prescribed electrolyte solutions that contain Splenda? What are their diets? And why does Morgellon’s seem to be prevalent in some professions? One client told me that all the nurses on her floor seem to be getting it. Is it something they eat in the break room? Or the fluids they drink? This is one of the reasons I researched out the list of foods containing Splenda. I was floored to find that so many infant foods contained that food additive, but they also contain soy. We need more information here to make connections. We need people to keep detailed diaries of what they are eating along with brand names and amounts. If there is a food additive connection, we can find it with this information. When organs of elimination such as the kidneys, liver, blood, lungs, lymph, skin and digestive tract are insufficient or when a gland or tissue system is deficient, it is possible to stimulate these organs by means of a homeopathic drainer. This technique is refereed to as "DRAINAGE". Assisting these excretory systems is important to assure non-reabsorption of the toxins. Without drainage, toxins will often dislodge from their binding sites and re-attach elsewhere causing either an aggravation or new disease processes. Low potency homeopathics, Professional Complementary Health Formulations Liquescences, are used to prepare the body for toxin excretion, provide pharmacological effect and energetic stimulation. I use Professional Complementary Health Formulations (PCHF) because they have been in the natural pharmaceutical business for nearly 22 years using the highest quality, organic or wild-crafted safe and effective natural products from all over the world in their formulas and supplements—and because a wonderful mentor introduced them to me in my own health protocol and they worked wonders. What’s in Whole Body Detox Liquescence? The Whole Body Liquescence is a combination of low-potency dilutions of the following substances: Citrus Limonum (1X), Dandelion 2X, Uva Ursi 2X, Capsicum 3X, Berberis Vulgaris 3X, Gallium 3X, Lobelia 3X, Nux Vomica 3X, Schisandra 3X, Tylophora 3X, Adrenal 6X, Brain 6X, Heart 6X, Intestine 6X, Kidney 6X, Liver 6X , Lymph 6X, Lung 6X, Spleen 6X, Thyroid 6X, Mag Phos 6X, Hep Sulph 8X, Lactic Acid 8X, in 10% Alcohol and 8% Glycerine. In the homeopathic world, lower potencies are used to repair physical damage, medium potencies are used to repair organ damage and high potencies are used to repair mental-emotional and psychological dis-ease. Usually disease is made up of a combination of energetic realities. Note: Here's a person who sent me a fascinating question without an email address to reply to. Please note that I don't usually call people back who are out of the country. The time difference is wild and I don't have unlimited calling! This one sounds like some kind of parasite. Dr. Denice: My age is 42. I am a Nigerian in West Africa. I have lived in Lagos city for about five years now. My neck used to make noise like breaking and I used to have some movement at the top of my head. I thought there was an insect moving in my hair but the feeling was still there after I combed my hair and scalp and so I realized it was inside my head. After this symptom appeared it was followed by fever and occasional body pains. These symptoms have been continuing now for about one year. My blood type should be A. Thank you. Dear Dr. Moffat: Help! Ewwwh. This is weird. I’m looking in what looks like a little hole in my cat’s skin and I see something moving. Gross! What on earth is it? Should I take my Chloe to the emergency room? Please answer quickly. Thanks. Emil in Oregon. Dear Emil. This sounds like a Cuterebra bot emerging from its breathing pore (also called a warble). Yes, very gross. Even grosser is to put a bit of local anesthetic in the hole, enlarge the hole a bit then reach down with a pair of forceps and pull the chubby little thing out and instill some antibiotic ointment of some kind to prevent secondary bacterial infection. Although not considered an “emergency” this is a process not for the squeamish, let me tell you! You should schedule for an office call as soon as possible before the larvae emerges and drops out on the floor somewhere. . .On second thought I can see how this could be considered an emergency for some people. Ick. Here’s what I know about bots: There are about 26 different species of flies that produce bots within the United States, Canada, Mexico and neotropical regions. Out in the field (that is large animal medicine) the birds often do this for us. Have you ever seen a bird sitting on top of a horse or cow out in the pasture? Sometimes they do this to get a free meal. (Kind of gives a new meaning to the Warbler bird name, doesn’t it? And Michael wondered if Bothell, Washington was named from someone’s bot experience. Just having some fun here. I can’t help it.) Symptoms associated with bot infestation: Flies and their associated larvae can cause lots of economical damage for the farmer and physical damage to the livestock with the associated inflammation, edema, damage to the hide, pneumonia, bloody nasal discharge, secondary bacterial infections and sometimes even death due to neurological damage (which is often misdiagnosed by panic stricken public and labeled as Mad Cow Disease.) Sometimes the livestock get so nervous and exasperated by being chased by flies trying to fly up their nose they stampede. It’s just a bad situation. Bots or warbles are the larval stage of the botfly, which characteristically infect rodents and rabbits. They are found under the skin, usually around the legs and neck. They have also been reported from deer, cattle, cats, dogs, hogs, mules, mink, foxes and man. They look like grub like maggots and are one to one and a quarter inches in length. They can be seen almost any time of the year. Their life cycle involves certain North American flies including muscoid fly, bot fly or nasal bot fly that places an egg or larvae onto a mammal host. The larvae migrate through the body feeding on mucosal tissue, flesh or secretions of the body and emerge out of the nose or skin as a pupae (depending on which animal species is infected) as a pupae. This stage then falls onto the ground, develops a bit further into a young adult fly—if it isn’t eaten by a bird first. This process can take anywhere from 10 weeks to a year depending on the temperature and time of year the animal is infected. Cats and dogs get infected with them by eating rodents, rabbits, chipmunks and squirrels. Usually these critters are kind of slowed down because the larvae have migrated into their nervous system and they can’t get away as quickly so are easier to be caught. The problem is that when our pets eat these infected animals they can become infested by both the larvae of the fly AND they can also get weird bacterial infections from the rotting flesh that they’ve eaten. (The antibiotic Baytril is great for these kind of infections by the way. Herbal medicine just takes so long to kick in that this is one situation where I do recommend antibiotics.) Humans can become infected by the Muscoid fly. It goes for tear secretions and the larvae can penetrate the eye tissue. Treatment: Natural treatments don’t seem to work for bot infestations. Ivermectin is the treatment of choice for those animals with persistent, debilitating symptoms. I’ve also read that mid-summer dose of garlic in the feed can cut down the incidence of bots. I don’t know the dose for this however. Explore this link for more info on that: http://www.skylinesfarm.com/parasitenasalbots.htm Here is a photo of different bots:
Picture of a deer nose bot (Cephenemyia) We were taught in vet school that if these were present to just cut out that portion of the meat and that the rest of the animal carcass was safe to eat. Gee, that kind of makes one want to become a vegetarian, doesn’t it?

Dear Dr. Moffat,
I just finished reading up on the
vanishing twin syndrome
and came across the characteristics of the surviving twin. Needless
to say I started to cry after I finished reading it. I felt somebody was writing
about me and it was extremely overwhelming. My mother was 34 years when she had
me and I was born in 1968, my father and my mom's mother are twins. I was born
in Germany and I have been living in the USA for 16 years. With age I have
been longing so much for a close relationship with my siblings and parents but I
am not satisfied with what they are willing to give. I feel this emptiness and
sadness, I am always afraid that they forget about me because I am so far away.
Sorry for being so direct but I felt a sense of relief when I read about the
vanishing twin syndrome as it explained a lot about me. Is there a way to find
out if I am a twin? Are there any kinds of DNA tests? Thank you so much. Carina
Answer:
No Carina. I don't believe there are any genetic tests for that syndrome. But
through muscle testing I do test you had a twin (female) who died in utero at 4
months of gestation. The links on the vanishing twin web page are excellent and
the book
Untwinned is also great for more
resources and for getting in touch with others who feel exactly like you do. It
is a process to work through much like grieving. Apparently your body is ready
to do that or you would not have found the twin information. That is in Divine
Right Order I think. Welcome to our world. Love and blessings. Denice
Hi Dr. Moffat:
I saw your web site and thought you might be able to help with this. My friends
in Russia have a Donskoy (hairless cat) that has these red lines. They are not
ring worm. The vets do not know what it is. It is also seen on hairless cats in
Canada & France. The vets don't seem to know what to do about it. I'll attach
pictures. It appears on the underside of the cats and sometimes up the sides.
Some vets think it is hormonal....Thank you for your time, Virginia
Dear Virginia:
I'm testing it is normal (that according to my Guides when I ask them). So
...maybe it is supposed to be a "classic tabby" marking? I wonder if the mutated
hair follicles are influenced by temperature or hormones? Is the cat always
looking like that? Or under only certain circumstances? This seems appropriate.
One situation that
comes to mind is that if you shave a Siamese the hair grows back brown on the
place that has been shaven. Then, when that brown hair falls out (and the
temperature in that specific area is back to normal) the hair comes back in
normal color. Hope that helps.
(Dr. Moffat’s
note: Virginia didn’t like that answer but hey, I didn’t know what else to
tell her. I can only relay the answers my Guides give me for these strange kinds
of things. I did email the picture to several of my vet friends and they had
never seen anything like it either.)
Dr. D.:
We are flying to Texas in August, and I was wondering if I would have difficulty
with security taking my homeopathic drops. I guess I could live without some of
them for a few days, but I think I really need to take my Pool & Spa detox
drops. Any suggestions? The airline we are taking allows liquid prescription
medications if they are less than two ounces, but these aren't
prescription. Tina
Dear Tina:
Ahh. Great question. Put the homeopathics in your bag that goes in the cargo and
you should have no trouble. I'd also take your bacterial and viral immune system
stimulator drops as the air on the plane is constantly being recirculated (and
so are those germs).
It's also a good
idea to take both the viral and bacterial drops for a couple of days before you
get onto the plane. No use being sick on vacation when you can prevent it! Oh,
and to make sure the drops have not been rendered somewhat ineffective by the
X-ray equipment remember to shake them 100 times to reactivate the drops. This
is also great advice for homeopathics (liquid or pellets) that you have not used
in a few months. Those things never expire (even though it has an expiration
date on the bottle) if you just shake them. Have a great vacation. Denice
What are Orbs?
This is a fun one.
Occasionally people pull out their pictures (which they don’t usually keep in a
photo album for some reason) or email me their pictures of orbs.
Now I had the same
questions as everyone else has when they are first introduced to orbs. Could
they be water molecules? Drops of oil on the camera lens? A smudge or piece of
dust on the negative? A film development challenge? Light reflecting off
crystals?
But these clients
always give me convincing stories as to why my theories are laughable. And I
believe them. So, let’s define what an orb is: Orbs are balls of
transparent light in a variety of colors—I’ve seen rainbow to bright green—found
in photos. Some people say then show up in haunted places. This may be true. Who
knows? Orbs may be produced by the transference of energy from power lines,
heat, batteries, or people to a spirit. This may not even be a conscious thing
the spirit is doing; just a natural way they get their energy—which may explain
why the orbs are round balls because according to the laws of Physics energy
being transferred in this fashion would assume the shape of a sphere.
One woman showed
me her pictures of green orbs. They always showed up when SHE clicked the photos
but when someone else took pictures using the same camera in between the
pictures she took they disappeared (and strangely showed up as ghostly shadows
behind her when she was in a picture!) The woman who took these pictures also
had the gift of phychokinesis (she can move objects with her mind and
without touching them,) so maybe it was her energy influencing the orbs? How
bizarre and cool is that? In her house a spirit follows people around and tips
the hats of the people that live there. You can hear him walking around at
certain times of the day and feel the cold energy when you’re not the person who
he wants to see.
She thinks it’s her late husband. I don’t have one
of her pictures to show you, but two clients of mine in Oregon sent me theirs.
Here’s a good example from Dawn’s yard in Bandon, OR:
Check out those
little white dots. They look like water spots with light reflecting against
them, don’t they? Here’s one that looks like an eyeball.
Another cool
picture sent from Shantell in Coos Bay, OR that look like labyrinths:
Do you believe?
There is some interesting statistical evidence about the validity of orbs.

Strangers Among Us

Walk-in’s welcome!
It’s a phrase that
always brings a smile to me because of my readings from the books of Ruth (Ruth
Montgomery that is.)
Some famous walk-ins
include Moses, Christ, Lincoln, Benjamin Franklin and Gandhi. These were all
enlightened beings that after many reincarnations attained sufficient awareness
of the meaning of life to forego the time consuming process of birth and
childhood. They returned directly to adult bodies.
The Characteristics
of a Walk-in:
*Walk-ins have
deeper perceptions, clearer goals and love for all beings.
*Often the muddled
individual who vacated the body is replaced by one who intuitively knows how to
solve the problems that blocked the other’s progress.
*Walk-ins agree to
complete tasks that the walk-out had undertaken but eventually they become more
energetic, hopeful, dedicated and have a better attitude. Friends and relatives
often notice this change.
*They are
irresistibly drawn to other walk-ins already at work raising the level of
humanity.
*Sickness, pain,
depression, grief, war, divorce and distressing personal relationships are some
reasons why a being decides to walk-out and exchange places with a walk-in.
*Walk-ins are
careful not to enter bodies where strong emotional ties to others are still
present.
*Walk-ins work in
secrecy for the goodness of mankind.
*They inspire others
at a mental level to see inner awareness and to rely on their intuition
*Walk-ins realize
that there is no such thing as a “bad” experience, but only opportunities to
learn and grow in inner understanding. Ruth’s guides say, “Our stumbling blocks
are actually stepping stones.”
*Walk-ins work
everyday jobs as well as higher up jobs. Ruth believes that the president who is
elected at the time the world has its upcoming Earth changes will be a walk-in
and that even other countries rulers and presidents will look up to this person.
(Denice’s note: I muscle-tested if any of the current presidential
candidates were walk-ins. There are.)
*Walk-ins drop seeds
of wisdom through casual remarks that are more apt to be heeded when coming from
an equal than from a preacher or boss.
*Walk-ins do not
need ego trips. They come not as masters or authorities but as servants and
workers whose task it is to help others discover truth.
How to Recognize a
Walk-in:
There are several
signs that this walk-in process has occurred.
Some of these include:
*A distinct
alternation of personality and thought patterns
*A traumatic
experience or severe illness that has altered a person for the better
*A willingness to
help others burdens and quietly to counsel them without expecting personal
reward
*Walk-ins radiate
quiet inner poise and a calm demeanor
*An unwillingness to
exchange harmful gossip about others
*A willingness to
give others credit for the ideas he has put in their mind
*A soul who
genuinely likes his fellow beings without establishing too close ties with any
of them
*A recent walk-in
may change their career, hobbies, friends and reading materials all at once.
It’s like they are a different person (and they are!)
How does one walk
out
(intentionally)? Ruth’s guides say that when one decides to make his/her body
available for a more highly evolved entity, they should picture themselves
floating off into space, envisioning another soul setting up housekeeping in the
vacated body. Doing such visualization alerts those on the other side who wish
to become walk-ins and will further one’s own awareness of the process.
Ruth writes that
people from the other side project pictures or symbols into human vibrational
waves of thought. The human then receives these thought forms as ideas and
impressions believing them to be their own. I suppose this is why when someone
invents something on one side of the world, another inventor is on that same
time track and inventing it somewhere else in the world.
“Many walk-ins now
occupy the war babies of the 1940s and 1950s who have reached adulthood and are
overcrowding the work force. They are encouraging younger generations to return
to natural ways of living which are more protective of the earth’s ecosystems”
states Ruth.
Ruth is not the
first author to write about walk-ins. Lubsang Rampa wrote The Rampa Story
and Chapters of Life in the 1950s.
Are you a walk-in?
About Ruth Montgomery:
Ruth Shick Montgomery (June 11, 1912 - June 10, 2001) was a nationally
syndicated news columnist and best-selling author of several of my favorite
books including: Born to Heal, A Search for the Truth, Companions Along the
Way, A World Beyond, Aliens Among Us and others.
Ruth originally started out as a political journalist. She was known as a woman
of unquestioned integrity who devoted her entire career to reporting facts—not
fiction or fantasy. Her territory included the White House, Capitol Hill and
national and foreign affairs. She spent 25 years covering news conferences of
many presidents and their first ladies.
When her editor sent her to write a story about the paranormal she connected
with several very famous, talented and gifted healers such as Jeane Dixon,
Arthur Ford and Bill Gray (Born to Heal’s Mr. X) who opened her mind. Her 1965
book, "A Gift of Prophecy," about Jeane Dixon, sold more than 3 million copies
and helped to build Dixon's reputation as a soothsayer. For nine years before
the book's publication, Mrs. Montgomery wrote an annual column describing
upcoming world events that Dixon saw in her crystal ball.
During her skeptical introduction of trying to debunk the paranormal Ruth sat
down with a pen and paper one day and was amazed to find that she had been
gifted with the talent of automatic writing. Many of Ruth’s books are
transcriptions of what her guides wanted her to write about. Try as she may to
avoid public ridicule, her guides kept at her until she finally published some
of these books which won her a loyal following.
People wrote her from all over the world telling her of their own personal
stories and giving her the strength she needed to keep writing about the
paranormal. She answered these letters personally for many years.
Ruth Shick Montgomery passed peacefully at the age of 88 of emphysema June 10,
2001 at her home in Naples, Florida.

Intuitive people and

use up extra minerals. Because of this I recommend they add some blackstrap
molasses (unsulfured) to their diet. One easy way to accomplish this is to mix
the molasses 50/50 with honey. The good thing about this is that it cuts the
unique flavor which some people don’t care for AND it prevents your honey from
crystallizing so quickly.
Crystals in Healing.
Denice -I
had to tell you this because I get such a kick out of the universe. While I was
at work yesterday I felt this huge energy surge go through me. It wasn't the
chills. It was entirely different. I felt it more intensely on the right side
of my body then...... I started getting lots of phlegm in my throat for the rest
of the day. I had to constantly swallow. (This constantly having to swallow
was something that started happening to me a couple of years ago and then quit)
My first thought was "boy, that hot towel on my throat every day must be
working" and then I remembered I had put on a collar necklace with a slide that
was made of sodalite. This stone sat right on my throat all day. It is the
color blue, hmmm. I just looked up the qualities of sodalite. Here’s what I
found:
Picture Reference
(and interesting site)
www.thunderhealing.org/rock/sodalite.jpg
Healing
properties of Sodalite:
Sodalite is associated with the thyroid. It is perfect in a necklace. Wear
it when you want to loose a few pounds. It helps in communicating and will
give confidence to speak more.
I bet my throat
chakra opened up some more and my thyroid bumped up a few more percentages in
function. Cool! I've been working on my thyroid for some time I wonder why it
took until now for me to pick up that necklace? Peace. Geri B. from Minnesota.
I'm so amazed at the
stones and crystals and how they work. The thing about them is their energies
are so subtle you don't notice it right away and when you finally do experience
the energy you forget what to attribute it to. I carried a rose quartz in my
pocket for a long time and found myself crying at the dumbest things, finally I
figured out that it was the rose quartz and took it out of my pocket. I can
physically feel the increased energy from stones in my left hand especially.
I've never experienced a physical healing from a stone before like I did with
the sodalite and it was completely unintentional.
Totally cool Geri.
I never really gave credit to the fact that crystals really do have energy but I
had a similar thing happen to me with Tiger eye. Those days I wore a specific
Tiger eye necklace I had really good days, was confident and focused. After I
finally connected the dots I now wear that necklace (on a magnetic chain for
increased brain energy and decreased brain fog) every day.
Those days when I
forget to put it on I kind of feel drained and numb wondering what I've done and
why I need so much coffee before figuring out that I forgot to put my necklace
on that day.
Another great
crystal for thyroid that often comes up is blue Topaz. If you can't afford the
crystal (which Edgar Cayce says should be two carats or larger to be effective)
then you can order the Gem Elixir and take that. I do carry some gem elixirs
here but can also can special order those for existing clients. Denice

Mom really DID want
a boy first!
Hi Dr. Moffat.
Remember that you picked up that my body has issues with the male/female
energy? Well, I asked my mom about whether she knew she was having a boy or a
girl when she was pregnant with me. She said no, they didn't do ultrasounds in
those days. Then I asked if they wanted a boy or girl. She said they wanted a
boy, quite plainly. She said, "We thought it would be good to have a boy first,
then a girl, so he could protect her. But we were very, very happy with our
little girl."
I thought this was
interesting. If you have any ideas on this, you mentioned that you carried an
imprint of your parents wanting a boy first and you were able to clear it with
Emotional Release work. I was thinking maybe this has to do with why I feel
inferior to men and never feel like I can measure up, especially with all the
sex drive stuff - I always wonder, why would I want to be more like a guy, why
couldn't I just be a woman who is glad to be a woman? Anyways, if you have any
ideas or think this is relevant, please let me know. I thought my mom's answers
were interesting. Thanks, Elise
Dear Elise:
Great validation! I no longer do the emotional clearing work (it just takes the
energy right out of me which lets me know that I’m not supposed to be doing it).
Anyway there are a few ways you can get your body in alignment with being a
female and feeling good about that. Check out Neuro Emotional Technique
practitioners in your area. You can find one at
www.netmindbody.com
or you could call my friend April Rubino at
www.integrativemindworks.com
and have it worked on with Emotional Freedom Technique.
You’ll need to come
up with some male issues to clear but also see if there is anything to
clear
emotionally with these issues:
I'm OK being a
girl.
I'm OK not being
a boy in this lifetime
I'm OK with my
femininity
I’m OK having
close female friends
Things like that.
Good luck and let me know how it goes.
9/26/08 Dr. Moffat:
I have a 3 years old male, intact, Bouvier Des Flanders dog who has been
bleeding from his penis for three weeks, no one seems to know why, he has been
in and out of the Animal ER, and seen by 4 different vets. They did discover
stones in his bladder. My animal communicator pick-up that he may have adrenal
issues (he won't drink water any longer), and possibly a "splinter" of some sort
in his penis. D.S
9/29/08
Darby had his first consult with the Guides and I. We picked up a blood clot and
stricture in his urethra, a folic acid deficiency causing the refusal to drink
water, and a virus in the blood vessels. The bleeding must have started because
the vessels had weakened from some other health challenges that had weakened his
immune system (kennel cough, the application of a harsh flea product, breeding
another dog, and crystals scraping the inside of his urethra. We recommended a
recheck in 2-3 weeks but emailed back and forth after the consult several times
to tweak his diet.
10/4/08
Checking in: Darby just drank a half bowl of water, no small feat. D.S.
10/20/08.
Darby’s owner called for her recheck but Darby didn’t need one. The
bleeding had stopped and he was drinking again. I included this in my Weird
Cases section because I had never heard of a dog continuously dripping blood
from his penis for such a long time. This was a complicated case with several
core causes. It just goes to show that if you give the body what it needs, it
will respond. He did.
Basil-Parsley Pesto
Pesto is used on
pasta, in soups and salads and is a wonderful way to get some of
parsley in your system. You’ll find a
few recipes in this section that use pesto.
1 ½ cups fresh
Basil Leaves
1 ½ cups fresh
chopped Parsley
2
cloves fresh Garlic
¼ cup Pine
Nuts
½ teaspoon
Celtic Sea Salt
¾ cups grated
Parmesan Cheese
Combine above
ingredients and whir in a food processor until it makes a thick puree then add
in approximately:
¾ cup Extra
Virgin Olive Oil
Sterilize several
4-ounce jelly jars and pack the fresh pesto into the jars. Cover the pesto with
a thin layer of Olive Oil and freeze the extra that you will not be using
immediately. Thaw as needed. As you use the thawed pesto, wipe the inside of the
jar with a paper towel or Kleenex and cover the newly used portion with another
layer of Olive Oil. This will prevent air from reaching the unused portion and
prevents mold from growing on the sides of the jar so that you can use all of it
without having to throw any of it out. I’ve had one batch of pesto in my
freezer for over 5 years and it’s still good after thawing. I’m almost ready to
make a new batch. . .next year.
The Little Boy and
the Old Man
Said the little boy,
“Sometimes I drop my spoon.”
Said the old man. “I
do that, too.”
The little boy
whispered, “I wet my pants.”
“I do that too,”
laughed the old man.
Said the little boy,
“I often cry.”
The old man nodded.
“So do I.”
“But worst of all”
said the boy, “it seems
Grown-ups don’t pay
attention to me.”
And he felt the
warmth of a wrinkled old hand.
“I know what you
mean,” said the little old man.

I just love her stuff!
A few years ago I
make a vision board and put a picture of a bobcat drinking from a pool of water.
The picture symbolized for me a different kind of bobcat--as in heavy
equipment! Well, our landlord/friend purchased a bobcat last month. On August
11th I took it for the maiden 3/4 mile voyage learning how to stop, start, turn,
back up and lift the bucket up and down. The next time I drive it I'll try
digging and flattening with it. I'm so excited!
