Health In the News:

Sleeping pills pushed onto teenagers. “National Sleep Awareness Week” is the last week in March. Some call it “National Sleeping Pill Advertising Week.” The Foundation who sponsors this event is run by drug companies that make sleeping pills, by sleep lab operators and mattress makers. Not quite an unbiased source. While the promotion will cite all sorts of statistics about sleep-deprived teens, they are not likely to brag about this: the use of sleeping pills in kids ages 10 to 19 has skyrocketed 85 percent in recent years, with spending up 223 percent. As a nation, we’re spending billions on sleeping pills and drug companies are spending hundreds of millions to get us to use more. I think I’ll go take a nap . . .

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado (AP) — A high school banned a caffeine-packed energy drink after students complained that it made them sick and shaky and caused their hearts to race. One student was taken by ambulance to a hospital last week and another was “so shaky and messed up” that she was brought to the school office in a wheelchair, Principal Jill Martin said. The effects were temporary and the students recovered, Naleski said. Tim Patterson, chief executive of Colorado Springs-based Biotest Laboratories, which produces Spike Shooter, said the drink isn’t meant for anyone under 18. “I don’t want these kids consuming the product,” Patterson said. “That’s not my target market.” He said thousands of customers have had no problem with the product, which the company says is sold in Colorado and Northern California. The drink Web site says an 8.4-ounce can has 300 milligrams of caffeine! By comparison, the average 5-ounce cup of coffee has 80 to 115 milligrams of caffeine, according to the London-based International Coffee Organization. The Website cautions consumers: “Begin use with one-half can to determine tolerance.”

Denice’s sarcastic note: Oh yes, let’s have more of this on the market please. Are you kidding me? Vivarin (Vitamin V as we called it in veterinary school), is only 100 mg. of caffeine and that alone gives one the jitters and diarrhea. Oh the ways to trash a body. . .Moving on. . .

Allergy season is soon coming upon us. Did you know that you can check the pollen levels in your area (which can also help determine which homeopathics to take when.) Here’s the link:  https://www.cnn.com/WEATHER/allergy

Dog and Cat Food Recall: Menu Foods, Inc, a major manufacturer of dog and cat food for some of the nations largest brands announced a precautionary recall on wet pet food Friday, March 16, 2007. The recall was issued for any of the company’s “cuts and gravy” style food manufactured between December 3, 2006 and March 6, 2007. The recall was issued after several pets died and many more suffered kidney failure after eating the affected food. The company has advised consumers to be aware of the warning signs of renal failure, which may include loss of appetite, vomiting, and lethargy.

Affected Products

For a complete list of recalled products you may go to www.menufoods.com/recall or call 1-866-895-2708 where specific information about each brand may be found. Basically folks, if you are feeding any kind of canned food that has “gravy” in it, you will want to check the list. It appears that most ALL big brands are affected (from cheap store-bought food to the more expensive “designer” brands.) This is a real bummer.

Case of the Month: Proving Homeopathics

How does homeopathy work (From Ode Magazine April, 2007 Issue page 68)

“Homeopathics treat illnesses by prescribing naturally occurring substances that have been so thoroughly diluted in water that only minute traces of the elements remain. According to the medical establishment, that shouldn’t work—but studies are beginning to shed light on why it does. It has been known for some time that water molecules can take on all kinds of shapes by forming clusters. (Have you seen the movie, What the Bleep Do We Know? It has some fantastic photos of this in the movie.) This is clear in the case of snowflakes. Recent studies have shown that water molecules may be able to record information, reports the British alternative health newsletter What Doctors Don’t Tell You (July 2006). This stored molecular information then triggers a response in the patient.

One of the pioneers in this area is French immunologist Jaques Benveniste, who has been researching the so-called “water memory” for years. Benveniste sees water as a kind of liquid magnet that assumes the molecular structure of any substance added to it. He demonstrated, for instance, that homeopathic medicines lose their clinical effectiveness when exposed to a strong magnet. Using a technique called “thermoluminescence,” Swiss chemist Louis Rey also proved that water leaves a memory of substances once dissolved in it. Someday this could result in medication that is effective and inexpensive.”

I thought you might like the above information as I am always looking for ways to explain homeopathy to people. Amazingly, the more dilute the substance, the stronger it gets. Figure that out!

This month I had two cases of possible homeopathic provings (the last time I had one of these was 10 years ago, so I figured I was supposed to talk about this.) A homeopathic proving is defined as a substance at a particular dosage which causes the same symptoms as what we are trying to eliminate from the body.

The first case was a woman who needed MSG Drops to take Mono Sodium Glutamate out of her system. She had been suffering with headaches for years and had narrowed it down to MSG as causing the most severe migraines although other chemicals she was exposed to also caused migraines of less severity.

I sent her a bottle of MSG drops AND Food Additive Detox Drops, both of which are used to extract MSG from the system, because I figured we needed to get all the offending components out of her tissues (including her brain), yet she was really focused on the MSG aspect only.

The challenge came after only taking one day’s dose of MSG drops which triggered a headache. She must have been quite toxic. We backed her off to 1 drop/day to start and she also had a headache with that dosage.

We ended up changing her to the Food Additive Detox Drops because that formula had more of a variety in additives. I was hoping that by doing so we would be able to detox some of the other minor headache-causing offending agents at the same time and that the healing would be quicker.  She is now taking one drop every other day until she feels no headaches from taking the drops. She will then  increase the dosage by one drop per day until she gets up to a normal detox dose for her which is 14 drops/day for a couple of months, then will add in the MSG drops and see what happens for her headaches. She will then use both types of drops as needed for exposure.

I don’t like to see these types of reactions, but the fact is, you have to start somewhere. Not taking the substance that gets rid of the offending material from your body does not get the problem resolved. Sometimes you have to buck through some discomfort to get to the other side of the dis-ease. She decided to go for it.

The other case was a heavy metal/mercury-amalgam filling case where the woman was so toxic from the off-gassing of the fillings that she feels aching pain 24 hours a day. She is saving her money to have the fillings replaced with porcelain fillings one arcade at a time, but in the mean time, she thought she’d like to detox with the Dental Amalgam Drops. She took her first dose and her muscles ached even more. She wanted to do some juiceing to speed up the healing process, but my Guides said that if she did, she would feel worse (so much so that it would discourage her and she would give up.) She is deciding on what she wants to do to ease into the detox.

I also had a baby with rashes back East who also suffers from a mild form of Autism. The baby has a fantastic mom who wants to do what she can to help the baby heal so that it can have a normal life. I believe this can happen. The baby tested on a homeopathic-like product that I don’t often recommend, although I took it initially when I was trying to overcome my own yeast issues. That product is Dioxychlor, which is diluted, oxygenated chlorine that penetrates the tissues to kill mutated yeast. This product can kill yeast very quickly and can cause a die-off reaction (also called a Healing Crisis or Herxheimer’s reaction). Since the baby couldn’t talk, I had my Guides titrate out a dose not to take orally, but to put in the bathwater. It’s a low dose! But, I think the baby will respond. We’ll keep you updated as things progress.

This concept of “proving” is fascinating to me because it is very similar to what doctors did in the old days to figure out what different substances did to a body and what kinds of symptoms it would manifest.

A group of doctors (or interested parties) would get together for a weekly “drug party”. They would sit around and each would take a prescribed dose of whatever drug they were trying that evening (including anesthetics such as ether, chloroform and cocaine!) The scribe (these days we call them the designated driver) would record what people reported after being asked a set of questions encompassing what they were experiencing in the physical, emotional, and mental states. The participants even went so far as to keep a diary and write down the things they were experiencing in the days after taking the substance, recording personality traits that were changed and what they dreamed about. The symptoms were then collated and written up. Those symptoms people experience before taking the substance were removed from the data unless they got better or worse while taking the test substance.

In homeopathy, a proving usually involves about 20 volunteers taking six doses of a remedy over a 2-day period of time.  This process is repeated in several different potencies. One resource many researchers use to compile homeopathic provings is the book, The Dynamics and Methodology of Homeopathic Provings by Jeremy Sherr.

Provings can be randomized, placebo-controlled or double blind. In modern provings, even the scribe is not aware of who is on the placebo.

What’s New on the Website?

How to build a Vision Board is up.

I’ve been researching ways to make things faster. A new client suggested I find out what the upload and download times were for wireless, cable and DSL as she is going to help me with my “post videos to the website” project. One of my goals is to sell a video through Clickbank on muscle testing. It’s all very exciting (but rather scary.) As it is now, my husband and I have to scream across the house, “ARE YOU ON LINE?” because we can’t seem to make the wireless work (again). It’s time to fix that this month. I’m now on cable and Michael will rewire soon so that he can be too. That way we can both work on our computers at the same time. That way we will also have the upload and download power to do the videos as well.

Mostly I’ve just been trying to keep up with the increased demand for my services this month. I actually hired some help which did not work out, so I’m back to the drawing board again.

I also am working with Theda, a woman who found my website, to put my forms on line so that people can fill them out and email them to me and vice versa. That will make things faster.

Ask Dr. Moffat:

Hi Denice, you will probably think this is an odd email.  I am not sure exactly why I am contacting you; I just know that I should.  I have read your biography and I find that you and I are quite a bit alike.  I have had two near death experiences myself.  I have had many unexplained experiences in my life, and after reading yours I find that there are similarities.  Right now I am very confused.  I was brought up in a Baptist background and taught to believe certain things.  I seem to be able to connect to or attract the spirit world and I am not understanding exactly what is happening.  I think I may have a spirit guide that is a Native American man but I am not sure.  Anyhow I am vibrating now and sense many things.  I am a very open minded person and I want to learn more, but I am confused also.  All I know is that I should contact you, it is like a first step and it is important.  I know you understand all of this.  I am open for a consultation if you think
that is best.  Lucy

Dear Lucy: Actually, I get quite a few emails like yours every year. You are not alone! My husband was raised Baptist as well. Now we are kind of free-spirited seekers and don’t have a church, but we both believe very deeply in a Higher Power and in working to be non-judgmental. I guess if you are asking for direction of some kind, it would be good to have an appt. Are you wanting to just get into the healing field or just know that you are in a safe place for starters?

I once asked my mentor how she determined which books to read to begin with as people are so opinionated and I didn’t know what was “truth” for a while there (lessons of trust and discernment). She said (and she’s in her 80’s and a staunch Jehovah’s Witness), “Whatever I read, I just read with a black highlighter!” I thought that was profound. She crosses off anything she doesn’t feel fits in with her beliefs.

I figure if it is eventually supposed to fit in, then it will keep coming back into your life again and again. I just surround myself with a shell of Love and Light and have pure intentions. I never dwell on “satan” or dark energy even though I know that negative energy is out there. I just call on my Guides and Angels to protect me from that kind of stuff. And if I make any mistakes (which I have) there is always someone there to fix it. Does all of that make sense?

It sounds like you need to start with some good books on mediums. Try John Edward and James Van Praagh books. They are safe, entertaining, and written by very devout believers in God. Both men are committed Catholics. When you get into the healing field you will find that we are “color blind” in that most dedicated healers do not care what religion one is. I always recommend Louise Hay as well (You Can Heal Your Life). Trust your gut. If something doesn’t make sense to you (or parts of it don’t) but you feel guided to read or experience something, then don’t throw out all the information because one thing doesn’t fit with your beliefs. Rather, put what you don’t understand on your “cosmic bookshelf” You’ll take down those “books” later on in your journey. Namaste and happy seeking! Denice

Hi. I read your website. Very informative. I do 7-10 day fasts and 30 day fasts. I get conflicting reports about taking Probiotics orally during a fast. Some docs have said OK, others have said, “Why bother since you are wiping them out using enemas?” What is your take on it? I usually open the capsule and put it in some water. Diana

Hmmm. Diana, I suppose both sides have a great point. I test “no” when fasting (for you) but that you can put it into a retention enema to re-establish gut flora at any time. Frankly, I haven’t found many probiotics to be really great. I guess the ones in the refrigerator section are the best choice (if they are not outdated!) Probiotics are beneficial bacteria that can be introduced into the digestive system through food. Most commercially promoted fermented milk products with probiotic properties contain strains of Lactobacillus bacteria or Bifidobacteria. They are also naturally normally present in the human intestine.

How to probiotics work you ask? Most live bacteria that are ingested die when they reach the acid conditions of the stomach. For a beneficial bacterium to be classified as a probiotic it must be resistant to gastric, bile and pancreatic juices to reach the colon alive. The probiotics attach to the wall of the intestine where they increase the number of beneficial bacteria and fight against harmful bacteria thus maintaining a balance between the beneficial and harmful bacteria.

I’ve tried many, many probiotics over the years. One product that works well for re-establishing gut flora seems is the prebiotic FOS (Fructo Oligo Saccharides). Prebiotics support the growth of beneficial bacteria in the gut. They are a natural food for probiotic bacteria. We use Source Naturals brand, but your local health food store should have a great brand as well. One per day until the flora is re-established–perhaps a year or two. That’s what your body wants. It’s not really my opinion. It’s just the way I work, which is to relay the information that my Guides give me to pass on.

Denice: I am emailing you in regards to me having the moons on my pinkie finger.  I have a very small moon on each pinkie finger. I have also been told I have low blood pressure. Can you give me more insight into what could be the problem?  And how I would go about trying to fix this?  In regards to my health I am 34, am 5’8″ weighing 135lbs. I am very healthy and try and eat healthy also. Other than a kidney stone two years ago I have never been in the hospital for anything other than having my three children. I realize this is somewhat odd seeing as how you have never met me or evaluated me but could you give me a few reasons as to why I might have these? Thank you for your time, Katina B.

P.S. I also have the other eight moons, with my thumb moon being about 25% of each thumb.

Katina: I’ve been studying the fingernail analysis information for a few years now and looking at a LOT of nails, and I don’t think the Orientals have all the answers here (at least from the resources I can understand and that are available to me.)

Here is what I have on my charts as lunula > 25% of the thumb nail: Stroke, hypertension, one-sidedness (meaning you are either right-handed or left-handed with the lunula showing up more on your dominant side), and liver cirrhosis. For the lunulae on the pinky I have on my Master Chart: Overworked heart, prone to heart disease, prone to high blood pressure.

But you say that you have low blood pressure. Is your tongue pointed or red at the tip of the tongue? (Meaning heart issues.)

Lunula on the pinky can also mean that your intestines are working overtime in the circulation department. It sounds like you are healthy, so maybe it’s just your metabolism? It would be hard to say without knowing all the details of your history, and even then, I’m not sure I can give you a definitive answer. Hope that helps! Denice

Dr. Moffat, please clear up my confusion. Are Lima beans acidic or alkaline question.  Most charts show that the lima bean is acidic.  Your charts show that it is both.  Please tell me if it is acidifying or alkalizing.  Other foods that are listed on both charts are: banana, cottage cheese, and eggs.  Thanks, David

David: The Lima bean is rather neutral. I think that’s why it is on both charts.

Bananas do cause stomach acid problems in people with low stomach acid (Usually blood type A people) Other fruits only take 10 minutes to digest where bananas take 40 minutes. Of course that may be because bananas have some inulin in it which is a substance that slows down the digestion of starch. Eggs are the easiest to digest protein, but technically acid (but less acid than other proteins). Cottage cheese would be easy to digest, but technically acid producing as well (makes acid ash in the system after it has gone through the digestive tract.)

My acid and alkaline food charts came from Dr. Bernard Jensen’s Iridology books.  I think your question addresses Yin/Yang, meaning that in all good there is some bad and vice versa. Some things (foods) are more good (alkaline) whereas some foods are very bad (acid) with only a little bit of good in them. Complicated, eh?

Product of the Month: Nothing this month.

Media Reviews: Movie: The Secret

The movie called “The Secret” was advertised on the internet several months ago using tease advertising and viral marketing techniques. It has now been out about three months in DVD form.

The book “The Secret” was written by an Australian woman named Rhonda Byrne as she was working through the loss of her father. Her daughter gave her a copy of the book, The Science of Getting Rich by Wallace D. Wattles which she found she could not put down. She researched on the internet and found that the principles of her book dated back to 3500 B.C.

Rhonda says, “The principle explains that we create our own circumstances by the choices we make in life. And the choices we make are fueled by our thoughts—which means our thoughts are the most powerful things we have here on earth.”

Rhonda defines The Secret as the law of attraction, which is the principle that “like attracts like.” Rhonda calls it “the most powerful law in the universe,” and says it is working all the time. “What we do is we attract into our lives the things we want, and that is based on what we’re thinking and feeling,” Rhonda says.

In the movie, several people share what their lives have become using the Law of Attraction principles. Michael and I knew of, or had been mentored by, several of the people in the movie either from seminars we had taken or books we had read.

One of my favorite mentors is Rev. Dr. Michael Beckwith. If you ever have a chance to see this man in action, take it! Spirit moves through him as a direct channel of love. I was surprised to learn though from the Oprah Winfrey website that Michael was a drug dealer in college—until he was arrested in a deal gone bad. Michael shared that he had a spiritual awakening during his trial and decided to turn his life around. Today he leads the Agape Spiritual Center in Los Angeles, where he teaches thousands of faithful followers the path to reaching their highest potential.

Many people believe that the Law of Attraction doesn’t work for them, but if they really went inward and evaluated the thoughts they were thinking, they would find that they are actually thinking more negative thoughts than positive ones. I tell my clients that this process is like a teeter-totter. You have to distract yourself from thinking negative thoughts (when you are aware of them) and put the energy into thinking more positive thoughts which will eventually tip the scales to attract a better set of circumstances. We can accomplish this by reading books and listening to tapes that will improve how we see the world and ourselves, meditating, practicing gratefulness, prayer, watching uplifting movies and eliminating negative things in our life (like negative people, newspapers and T.V.) One of the most important things one can do is to love themselves. This really speeds up the process! You may think you are alone in not thinking highly of yourselves, but about 65% of my clients could use a little boost in the self-esteem arena.

Esther Hicks who channels a group of enlightened individuals who call themselves Abraham tells us, “If you feel happy, joyful, passionate, or otherwise positive, you’re successfully thinking about what you want.  If you feel fearful, depressed, angry, or otherwise negative, you’re thinking mainly about what you don’t want, so you’re using the law of attraction destructively.  Hence, at any given time, you can simply check your emotional state to determine whether or not you’re in or out of alignment.”

As Rev. Beckwith says, “People aren’t walking around thinking, ‘I want a bad thing to happen to me,’ but there’s an unconscious fear. There’s a doubt. There’s a worry. There’s a sense of separation there that’s running them,” Michael adds that spiritual growth is “allowing that which is unconscious to become conscious.”

Oh, what one can do when they finally connect with their life purpose?

Another mentor of ours has been the authors of Chicken Soup for the Soul books, Mark Victor Hansen and Jack Canfield. Jack says that everything you focus on can have an effect on your life. “The feelings we feel actually send out a wave into the universe, and anything that’s vibrating in a similar level gets attracted into our life,” Jack says.

“The Secret” is suitable for all ages and anyone with an open mind and is ideal for the beginning metaphysical student. Fans of the movie, What the Bleep Do We Know  will undoubtedly find “The Secret” even more enjoyable because in comparison, the latter is more focused, concise, and thorough—and it has fewer scientific words!

When the student is ready, the teacher appears. I think there are going to be a lot of new students becoming ready out there in our universe with this movie. It’s a good thing.

The film doesn’t talk much about subconscious aspects such as hidden conflicting beliefs, suppressed fears, ethics, feelings of self-worth, or the concepts of value of service rendered, but this movie is a good teaser for all that. My recommendation would be to follow up with Esther Hicks book, The Law of Attraction or Ask and It is Given.

The Secret does introduce lots of good techniques for introducing a positive approach to one’s life that anyone can do including Vision Boards and many of the other techniques I feature in my Healing Techniques and Prosperity and Abundance sections of my website (Gee, I wonder where I gleaned those techniques from?)

What I’ve found in my practice is that the average person just does not realize that they can change their actions, feelings, thoughts, beliefs and identity by just following some simple assumptions and redefining their set of beliefs.

Watch The Secret — it will help you understand just how important it is to keep your thoughts focused on what you want to attract. Ask for it in your local video stores. (They won’t have it, but maybe it will help to spread the word! You may have to order it online, but I hear that Barnes and Nobel are also carrying it now.)

Tips and Tricks for a Healthier Life

Plastic and Heat are a lethal combination.  John Hopkins and Walter Reed Army Medical Center are both helping spread the word that microwaves and plastic are a deadly combination because they produce dioxins. Here’s what they are recommending:

  1. No plastic containers in the microwave.
  2. No water bottles in the freezer.
  3. No plastic wrap in the microwave.

Dioxin chemicals cause cancer, especially breast cancer. Dioxins are highly poisonous to the cells of our bodies. Don’t freeze your plastic bottles with water in them as this releases dioxins from the plastic. We should not be heating our food in the microwave using plastic containers either. This especially applies to foods that contain fat. The combination of fat, high heat, and plastics releases dioxin into the food and ultimately into the cells of the body. Instead, use glass, such as Corning Ware, Pyrex or ceramic containers for heating food.

Remove frozen dinners, instant ramen noodles and soups, from the container and heat them in something else. Heating in paper isn’t bad, but you don’t know what’s in the paper. Often dioxins are used in the paper making process. It’s just safer to use tempered glass. Some of the fast food restaurants are moving away from foam containers to paper. The dioxin problem is one of the reasons.

Plastic wrap is just as dangerous when placed over foods to be cooked in the microwave. As the food is nuked, the high heat causes poisonous toxins to actually melt out of the plastic wrap and drip into the food. Cover food with a paper towel instead.

Client Testimonials:

To Dr. Moffat: I would like to really let you know how your site has been helping me.  I am ever so grateful for the valuable information and wealth of knowledge you are sharing and sparing.  I truly am choosing to affirm daily for I certainly can feel the difference in my health from protecting myself from the negative individuals around me. Thank you for being an Earth Angel. . .I hope to be a client of your professional services quickly and easily as I open to receive from the Universe. Be blessed.  Daphne of NYC

That’s sweet Daphne! Thank you! I enjoy working on my website as it gives me great joy to share with others. Occasionally people tell me to sell everything I can, but I say to them, “Jesus said, give the gifts away!”  It is proving to be a gift to the world and it is also feeding me financially. Life is good! Keep it up and I look forward to hearing from you soon for a consult. Have you read Catherine Ponder’s books on prosperity? They are really great books on changing your consciousness about money. And I also like Creating Money–Keys to Abundance by Sanaya Roman and Duane Packer. Excellent resources. Namaste. Denice

Dear Dr. Moffat, I just wanted to let you know that you have a great website.  Reading about your work is an inspiration to me. May the Universe continue to bless you in all areas of your life.

I don’t have any physical ailments, but have often battled with depression while trying to find my purpose and place in this world.  I am a 33 year old professional, but I find no joy or passion in what I do. I sincerely understand the feeling of working in a field that has been completely draining for me. I just haven’t been enlightened or inspired to do anything else.  I am at a point in my life of just needing a miracle from God.  A moment where everything begins to make sense.  A moment of clarity.

Will you pray with me that the Universe helps me to find my passion and purpose in life and that I am open and receptive to receiving this knowledge? I want to be the best at what I was designed to do. I rejoice in reading about the gifts that you and others have been given.  It makes me happy because it gives me hope that I will one day find my place too. Thank you for your help.  God bless and keep you surrounded in Peace and Love. Sincerely, Lavern

Dear Lavern: Well, how about a few resources to help you? In my coaching corner I have a Life Purpose exercise. The first step is to get clarity anyway! Then get a copy of the movie The Secret and watch that. Go to www.Abraham-Hicks.com and sign up for their daily inspiration to keep you focused each and every day. Get a copy of The Attractor Factor by Joe Vitale and read that.

YES! I will put the energy out there that you get clarity and find the courage to go into your fears about new things and that an area will shine for you to go into. But most importantly, find SOMETHING to do each day to stimulate your passions whether it is a hobby or just being in nature. Feeling “not connected” suppresses your immune system.

We need your kind of professional energy in this new field of medicine we are creating. No energy you put forth to learn is wasted. I’ve used everything I’ve ever learned, be it from babysitting, painting houses, working at Blue Cross, multi-level marketing, relationship angst (three divorces), several church experiences, and all kinds of “bad” stuff that has happened “to me” in my life.

Naomi Tickle (one of Michael’s Face Reading mentors) does a pretty great reading in regards to which career people are best suited for as well. Maybe you should let her to a reading for you? You can check out her site at: Naomi Tickle www.thefacereader.com

Choose to be happy and the Universe will bring you more because that is what you are focusing on! Good luck and be YOU! Love Denice

Which brings me to my new favorite song. I really love connecting people to their true God Path and some of the music I’ve come across these last few years is just really inspiring to me and to those who I share it with. This song, Amazing Things by Jana Stanfield is one of those songs. You can listen to a snippet of her song at  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DlCTj_BXMTY . This year’s CD has some very awesome songs in it. I’m totally impressed with the book team this year. You can order a copy of the book and receive a CD for free at www.IAmAMiracle.com.  Here’s the song:

God works In, As, and Through Us. . . Kudo’s to Jana Stanfield:

Working in the world of meetings, you know the frustration of participant’s cell phones going off after every break. The Spirit of Women Conference had a good solution that might work for you. Debi Smith, Marketing & Whatever It Takes Director for Jana Stanfield, sends this story of what amazing results can come from just one generous idea. . .

“It’s the last day of Jack Canfield’s 8-Day Breakthrough to Success Seminar, where we’re working with 288 high achievers. Not Mercedes-driving, Armani-wearing, Harvard-educated high achievers. We’re talking Mini Van-driving, Birkenstock-wearing, state college-educated difference-makers.

Day 1, before the doors open, Jana tells Jack she’s been trying to raise $50,000 to help 50 Balinese orphans. She is $25,000 short and doesn’t know how to raise the rest. Jack tells the group about the girls and announces that whenever a cell-phone goes off, the owner owes $5 for their orphanage.

Day 8, professional funny-man Paul Lenaberg stops Jana as she is stepping onstage for her last song of the workshop, saying that his phone is ringing and he needs to pay. As Jana reaches out to accept the cash, another phone goes off. . .and another. . .and another.

She looks out in confusion to see a room FULL of people holding up ringing cell phones! They file slowly into the center aisle three-across, waiting in line to put their money on the stage where Jana is kneeling in tears.

By the end of the day, this group of 288 generous spirits gives $25,432.55. . .Just what she needs to restore the girl’s home.”

We are so very proud of Jana and all the good works she is doing for our world and are so grateful for her donation of her song, “If I Were Brave” to the I Am A Miracle Book I and Amazing Things to Book II CD. Thank you, Jana, and keep up the great works!

This month’s quote from Abraham

“When you begin to understand Law of Attraction, and you understand that which is like unto itself is drawn, then it is easier and easier to understand that you are offering a signal, and the entire Universe responds. And when you finally get that, and you begin to exercise some deliberate control about the signal that you offer, then it really begins to be fun, because then you recognize that nothing happens outside of your creative control. There are no things that happen by chance or by circumstance. There is nothing that is happening because of something you vibrated a long time ago or in a past life. It is not about what you were born into. It is only about what you are, right now, in this red hot fresh moment emitting.” — Abraham

From the Intenders Bridge

What you think and say is what you get. Or as I say, “Where the concentration goes, the energy flows.”

“A lady named Genie kept making the same intention week after week. She intended that she is in a relationship with the man of her dreams and, week after week, we expected her to arrive at the circle with her new boyfriend on her arm. But, after several months, it still hadn’t happened.

So, one evening after we’d finished our intentions and gratitudes, Mark asked Lee Ching why Genie’s intention hadn’t manifested yet. The answer he received was quite profound. He was told that it simply wasn’t in Genie’s (or her future boyfriend’s) highest and best interests to have a man come into her life at this time; that she didn’t really have the handle on her negativity yet; and that if he was to show up in her life, she wouldn’t be able, at her present level of emotional maturity to keep him around. It was suggested that she do some more work on herself to keep herself calmer and more centered in the midst of life’s little storms, and in this way when the man of her dreams did come along, she’s be better prepared to make the most of her relationship.”

My intention for today is: I intend that all of my intentions serve the Highest Good of the Universe, myself, and everyone everywhere.

What’s New at Our House?

My brother Jerry came from Seattle and spent four days with us to help Michael and I build a small vet clinic in our basement. We just had a new furnace put in and the house rewired to get ready for that project and Michael is doing the re-plumbing using pex tubing. I sealed the floor and painted it with two coats of water-based epoxy (which dried and looked a lot like latex and is not holding up). I almost gassed myself out one night with the sealer. We are trying to use all the low VOC materials that we can, but trying to maintain a shoestring budget is enticing us to use materials that are not as safe.

On the other hand, finding materials that will hold up is also a challenge. I see the world going in a non-toxic direction, which is awesome, but for now we will have to use some supplies from both sides of the building material world.

For instance, Michael and I went to a seminar on how to treat the world better. One speaker there mentioned that it only cost about 20% more to use non toxic materials. “Great!” I said. But when I went down to purchase those materials the 72 cent vinyl tiles were not 20% more! Each tile was, in fact, $5.78! Back to vinyl. I’ll use non-toxic glue and wax.

By the end of Jerry’s visit we had incorporated 100 feet of wire, over 200 studs and 42 sheets of sheet rock into the basement walls. It looks great and quite unique as Jerry really did an artistic job of going around duct work, plumbing and a variety of other things that were obstructing a flat ceiling. Power tools are wonderful.

I didn’t get to use the automatic nailing gun, but I did get to experience the drywall screw gun which was incredible. I hardly had to push the drill at all and the screw went into the stud like butter. The drill was light, but my wrist and arm were wasted by the end of the experience because Jerry kept saying, “I don’t want to hear the motor on that drill shut off!” What a slave-driver. Whine. I finally just took up my cordless drill for the ceiling screws. I’m better with that and I can rest between screws. Next I’ll tape all the sheetrock and apply three coats of mud. I’ve never used a power sander (I’ve done a lot of mudding and have always hand-sanded), but I’m looking forward to experiencing that. Apparently it is attached to a vacuum so there is not as much powder to clean up afterwards. I’ve always thought that is the worst part of remodeling!

The chickens are starting to lay in full force again. I finally figured out that is was not the hen who was laying the egg doing all the squawking. She just sits there and grunts while a midwife hen screams, “You go, girl! You can do it! Brawk!!” Those midwives are loud!

The tulips and daffodils are coming up like crazy and I got to mow the neighbor’s lawn last week for the first time this season to give to the chickens. The quail are building in numbers and are spending lots of time in our yard. I hope they have more than 13 babies this year. We put up a bit of dead brush habitat for them to run to if a cat chases them.

And we got a dog. Rayman, down at the animal shelter, finally figured out exactly what I wanted then just kept looking for her. She was relinquished last week to the shelter. She’s a 10-month old Border Collie. We’ve now had her a day. She has found all my bird body part items in the house, chased the cat and the chickens and chewed on a toxic plant. So life goes. Thanks to the Lewis-Clark Animal Shelter for training her to come, lay down, sit, speak (some), and walk on a leash so far when she was there. They do a great job. We’ll be taking her to agility classes starting in May if all goes well.
