Health in the News:

Third-Generation Birth Control Pills Increase Risk of Life-Threatening Blood Clots

Sixteen million American women take the pill for birth control, acne, irregular cycles, pre-menopause and more. Do you know any women who take the newest third-generation birth control pills containing the synthetic progestin called desogestrel. Brand names that have this ingredient in it are:

  • Apri
  • Cerazette
  • Cesia
  • Cyclessa
  • Desogen
  • Desogestrel
  • Desogestrelum
  • HSDB 3593
  • Kariva
  • Mircette
  • Org-2969
  • Ortho-Cept
  • Triphasic
  • Reclipsen
  • Solia
  • Velivet

If so, the risk for life-threatening blood clots in many areas of the body is doubled when compared to birth control pills that do not contain desogestrel. This risk is higher the first 12 months of taking this medication. Also, women taking birth control pills may need to discontinue use of them prior to any surgery. They also have a 14 times higher risk for blood clots during long plane flights.

Warning signs of a blood clot include: Abdominal pain, Chest Pain, Headaches, Eye problems and Severe Localized Leg Pain. You can remember these by the acronym ACHES.

These types of birth control pills may also cause hair loss.

Case of the Month: Vulvar and Vaginal Itching—Cathy’s Story

Cathy, a woman in her early 40’s suffered from vaginal herpes infection which was “gifted” to her by an old boyfriend a few years back. Now the itching is almost unbearable and chronic so much so that she can’t sleep and is afraid to be seen out in public for fear someone will catch her scratching her private parts.

This particular case was really challenging because it was so severe. I’ve “seen” lots of these cases over the years. One woman was in her 80’s and had a challenge with herpes. It really doesn’t matter how old you are, or what nationality, or how many partners you’ve had. There are lots of people around you who have these types of challenges. They just don’t talk about them.

Often a client will have seen me for years before they finally tell me they have something like this.

“Why didn’t you tell me this before?” I ask. “We could have been helping you all along!”

“I was too embarrassed.” They say.

The interesting thing is that my Guides won’t usually have me send home anything for it until the client owns up to the disease. That’s kind of a relief for me because it’s kind of difficult to tell someone they have some type of sexually transmissible disease. Fortunately they usually tell me, when that comes up, “Oh yeah, I’ve had that problem before.”

Vaginal itching can be caused from STO’s (sexually transmitted diseases) but they can also be caused from parasites and allergies (often to the lubrication on spermicidal jellies and condoms, scented toilet paper, feminine sprays, and lack of a cotton crotch in the underwear), latex allergies (Lord help the person who has latex allergies because that is more common with each passing year as well), and occasionally the itch will be caused as a result of the partner being too toxic. In these cases, the woman’s vagina exhibits and allergic, itching reaction when it rejects the toxic sperm and pre-ejaculate. I think this is more common than we know as the incidence of infertility has risen these last few decades (it’s currently at about 40%).

So, back to our client.  . .Now Cathy felt like she’d been tainted and had abstained from any kind of loving relationship for over two years. She had completed the traditional workup and had tried lots of allopathic things. She occasionally took Acyclovir for the herpes breakouts and Nystatin for the secondary yeast infections caused from scratching the itch.  She also had some white spots on her nails from the venereal disease, yeast and toxins built up in her body.

Cathy also had a history of having other viral infections as a child (Planter’s warts). Now, this seems insignificant, but it’s not. If the body is fertile soil for one virus type, often it’s fertile soil for a few viruses. And sometimes those viruses can be in our bodies for years and only come out during times of severe stress. The decrease in sleep was affecting her immune system so she was extra sensitive and emotional. To add to her stress, she was in a job that was not suited to her Life Purpose. She was not doing what she REALLY wanted to do—what she was passionate about doing.

Over a period of six months we sought out and corrected the imbalances in her body using both allopathic and naturopathic remedies, lifestyle changes and nutrition. Here’s what her body wanted (Of course each case differs, but in general there are some things here that will help some of you with this same problem):

  • Raw, whole foods for the chronic Candida (yeast) infection
  • Zinc and zinc-containing foods to replenish the zinc deficiency
  • Chlorpheniramine maleate—an over-the-counter antihistamine to help temporarily with the allergies and to help her get some much-needed sleep.
  • Acyclovir, which she got from her medical doctor, only we adjusted the dose as her body asked for it until the natural remedies could kick in. She knew this would take some time and even though she did not want to take the medication, she understood that it was only temporary, and did so.
  • Degex homeopathic liquid to help clear out degenerative tissues as the body fought to cleanse itself.
  • Plain yogurt vaginal suppositories (sometimes fortified with lactobacillus powder)
  • HRPZ drops—a homeopathic remedy for the treatment of all kinds of herpes infections
  • Foods high in Lysine, Tryptophan and Taurine as her body needed them
  • Ionic minerals for overall health
  • Food Additive Detox Drops (Part of the itch was due to a sulfite allergy. She had been drinking wine to help her sleep.)
  • Magnesium Lactate to help heal and calm the nerves
  • Olive Leaf Extract to help get rid of the viruses and support her body as an antioxidant.
  • Oat Straw for making a tea to assist in helping her to fall asleep.
  • Udo’s Choice Oil Blend to replenish Omega 3,6,9 deficiencies and when her body was finished with this oil she also needed Sunflower oil
  • Parotid PMG to help the body rid itself of environmental toxins (A common symptom of environmental toxins by the way is red hand palms.)
  • Zypan to help the digestive tract. Pain in the lower right abdomen surfaced two months into the treatment. (Note: much of our immune health depends on a healthy gut and Cathy wasn’t digesting her food very well and she had a hidden cryptosporidium infection which turned up a couple of months into her treatment regime.)
  • Super Green Foods –powders to help alkalize her body and prepare it for the cycles of yeast and viral die-off)
  • Carob powder and Amalgam homeopathic drops to help assist the body to process and excrete the heavy metals from the numerous amalgam fillings she had. Some people feel that chronic yeast infections continue with the presence of mercury fillings. Apparently her body thought so.
  • Cryptosporidum nosode drops—We don’t know where she got this parasite, but since the large intestine is in close proximity to the reproductive organs, her body wanted it gone; so we honored it’s guidance. She had some stabs and twitches of pain in her gut at one time which is a symptom of this particular parasite. (I love it when the symptoms match up with what my Guides tell me to send home!)
  • HPV drops—Human Papilloma Virus came up as a second virus in the vaginal area after 2-3 months of detoxifying her body.

I also attended to her spiritual needs by recommending several books, resources, affirmations, visualization and websites that supported her in taking a faith leap to do more of what she loved to do, manifest the man of her dreams (that would love her with her condition), and to guide her to accept and love herself unconditionally so that she felt deserving of that partner when he came along.

We spent six months and a BUNCH of emails following the body’s leads. Cathy would email me when she had a particularly horrid day and I’d educate, re-educate and find other things she needed to do.

“It’s OK to cry and pray, but don’t be worried. This will pass.” I told her as she worked through the process and learned new perspective.

I think at times it was agony for both of us as she so wanted to heal and I really wanted to help her.

“How can an area like this which brings us such pleasure be a source of so much pain? She asked. “I even wondered if it’s possible to surgically cut off the vulva. Crazy isn’t it!”

“Uh, no.” I shared. I had thought of that too many years ago when I had experienced similar symptoms as a result of an allergy to the lubrication on condoms. Doctors had tested me for sexually transmitted diseases and parasites and had done cultures and scrapes only to find nothing.

I even went so far as to shave my pubic area and use flea shampoo on myself because it felt like bugs were crawling all over my pubic region. Let me tell you, it really itches when the hair grows back in that area. I agonized for months before finding the “fairly common cause” of allergies for my own itchy vulvar area to be an allergy to the lubrication on condoms according to Planned Parenthood.

But, there is something good that happens with every dis-ease. As a result of that experience I’ve adjusted my pre-op shaving for the dog neuters. Often the larger, more mature male dogs will swell in the testicular sac area after surgery, and they often lick at their incisions. I learned from my own experience the closer you shave that area, the more itching you have later. So, when my technicians ask me, “Don’t you want me to shave closer?” I say, “No! And make sure you only scrub with the hair, not against it!” (And I think the dogs appreciate that.)

I doubled my efforts to help her. I could relate.

At one time Cathy added an extra lactobacillus to her vaginal suppositories which really caused her body to act up. It threw her into a healing crisis. To read about what a healing crisis is and how it worked, I emailed her my handout: Http:///basicsofhealth/healing_crisis_process.htm

“If a little is good, a lot is NOT better.” I said. We cut her back to what her body wanted and treated the urgency of the day and moved on.

Our efforts were at last rewarded with this email:

Denice, thank you for your explanation. I’ve run my course with western doctors, acupuncturists, other natural healers, etc…You’re the only one I’ve come to know whom I trust, both on a spiritual and medically competent level. I just want my life back… thank you for helping me.”

And three weeks later: “It’s working! . . .I just feel a little twinge, here and there, mostly in the early morning and late night. But nothing like it was before! The combo of Acyclovir and all the homeopathic stuff, etc. is WORKING…….you are amazing!”

“Oh by the way, that oat straw herb is fantastic. I’ve been drinking every night and it helps me sleep. I’ve run out of it…can you send me a larger amount, maybe four times the amount you gave me before?”…Cathy

Product of the Month: Nosodes for Sexually Transmissible Diseases

Last week a 69-year-old client called and left a panicked message on my answering machine. Apparently she had just returned from the emergency room because she discovered some little white papules in her vulvar area. “And they said it looks like Herpes!” She said. “Well, yes. You’re under a huge amount of stress these days so it would make sense that any leftover herpes from years back could possibly surface. Do you still have your HRPZ drops? ” I asked. “What herpes drops? I’ve never had herpes!”

“Well, yes you have. Don’t you remember? Fourteen years ago when you first came to me you had that challenge and we got you started on the drops. You used two bottles of it and it went away. We had this discussion about it possibly returning someday over a decade ago.

“Oh.”

And I’m thinking. . . MAN those drops are GOOD! As a matter of fact all the homeopathic nosodes that have to do with STD’s (Sexually Transmitted Diseases) are really good. We carry:

  • STO drops for the most common STD’s such as, Pseudomonas, Gardnerella, Trichomonas vag, Syphilis and Chlamydia.
  • HRPZ drops (for Herpes simplex I, II and zoster infections, but we also have a drop specifically for shingles)
  • Chlamydia nosodes
  • Trichomonas vaginalis nosode and
  • HPV (Human Papilloma Virus) nosodes for vaginal warts.

Now, when someone comes in with infertility the presence of these types of conditions can often come up, so they can be treated, but this is such a touchy subject. I suspect often that my Guides don’t bring it up if the client is too embarrassed to discuss it. And it would be pretty embarrassing for me to tell them that they have something like this, so we end up fortifying the immune system, working on lifestyle changes and treating other conditions that the client can actually talk freely about.

One of the soft spots in my heart however has to do with many of these clients spending a life of celibacy and not developing vintage-type love and lasting relationships because they are too hesitant to talk about it. I wish there were a website dedicated specifically to matchmaking people with sexually transmitted diseases, and I wish people would just tell the truth right up front so that they wouldn’t pass these things on to an unsuspecting partner.

On the other hand, people are so judgmental about this subject that they often reject even developing a relationship with a very wonderfully matched life-long relationship. Gee, there are just a lot of issues with this subject.

I have a gay friend who shared with me that he was about ready to go to bed with someone he met in a bar who he had a physical attraction for. He had his clothes off and was slipping into the sheets when the man said, “Oh, by the way, I have AIDS. I hope that doesn’t bother you too much!” Yikes! My friend jumped out so fast he forgot a shoe at the man’s apartment he left so fast.

So, what is a Nosode? A nosode is a homeopathic preparation made from a disease or pathological product. Substances such as fecal, urinary, and respiratory discharges, as well as tissue and blood products, are used in the fabrication of nosodes. The origin of the word nosode is the Greek word nosos, meaning disease.

These pathological products are diluted so much that the water and alcohol that carries the preparation have only the memory of the substance within the dilute. This memory is strong enough though to make the body understand that the particular pathogen is not wanted within the body.

The nosode makes the body’s defense system recognize any disease that looks or feels like this nosode and eliminates it from the body through the skin, urine, and feces. We use nosodes and homeopathics that are so weak that a person can use them for up to a few months without any problems but traditional homeopaths use stronger remedies that can only be used for a few days (which is a science in itself).

Because the body can elicit the same symptoms that the disease causes if you take the remedy for too long a time (which happens approximately once a decade for my practice) it’s important to work with someone who knows how to dispense and monitor the remedies. I’ve always believed that if you give the body what it wants and what it is ready for, it will respond in a positive way. This is the main reason why I require a consult to dispense these products. It relieves the temptation to use the “let’s see if this product will work” type of thinking. I think it’s good for everyone concerned.

Media Reviews: Courageous Souls: Do We Plan Our Life Challenges Before Birth? Book By Robert Schwartz

I liked this book because it helped to answer some of those tough questions we have like, “If there is a God, why would he/she let this happen?”

Often a session with a talented medium can trigger a profound spiritual awakening for a person. It’s often the key component in opening the floodgates to remembering bits and pieces of why we are here. In turn, this keeps us moving forward accomplishing and completing tasks, projects and relationships that we may have felt uncomfortable with in the past.  A good reading allows us to see the bigger perspective of our seemingly difficult lives.

For me, all my study into metaphysics has led me to an expansion of faith and trust in the greater Universal system. When things get rough, I say to myself, “God, I don’t really see the good in this, but I believe in You and I know that all is in Divine Right Order, so if you can please show me the bigger perspective, that would be awesome.” Until that happens I just trudge forward and do what I have to do, making the best of the situation and giving gratitude for what I can as I make a practice of focusing on the positive.

We are all born with claircognizance which is an inner knowing. Claircognizance reveals itself to us in the form of feeling. If we just keep focusing on what feels right, we more easily see the signs along our own path. Meditation is one way to quiet our minds so that we may listen to our spirit guides more effectively.

In this book, Robert Schwartz (www.CourageousSouls.com) worked with several mediums over a three year period to compile and collate readings from several participants who had multiple readings using different mediums specializing in pre-birth readings to explore their individual life path.

Robert writes about pre-birth planning and how these participating mediums explain that we have chosen some of our challenges to help develop our own soul and to support the soul’s journey of others.

Here are some excerpts from Courageous Souls

Soul Planning (page 15): “Prior to birth, we have in-depth conversations with our spirit guides and the other souls with whom we will share our incarnation. We discuss the lessons we hope to learn and the ways in which we will learn them.”

Pre-Birth Planning (page 22): “The feeling of déjà vu is often accurately attributed to a past-life event, but many déjà vu experiences are memories of pre-birth plans. When we enter the Earth plane, we forget our origins in spirit. We know prior to incarnation that we will have such self-induced amnesia. The phrase behind the veil refers to this state of forgetfulness.”

(Page 24) “While we are in our physical bodies, our souls communicate with us through feelings. Feelings like joy, peace, and excitement indicate we are acting and thinking in ways that are consistent with our true nature as loving souls.”

Note: If you’ve been reading my newsletters long enough you would know that I often include an Abraham-Hicks quote (www.Abraham-Hicks.com) as part of the inspiration section. These teachings are very much in alignment with the Robert’s findings.

On Karma: (Page 29): “Typically, we have karma with members of our soul group—others at the same evolutionary stage with whom we have shared many lifetimes. In those past lives, we have played the roles of husband, wife, daughter, son, brother, sister, mother, father, beloved friend and mortal enemy to the same souls.”

Robert discovered through his research that there is no punishment, simply a desire to balance karma and that most souls plan life challenges to be of service to others. All blueprints for life are based on love, even when the soul has agreed to play a “negative” role to stimulate another soul’s growth. Self-love is one of the main lessons that humans focus on.

I see this in my own practice when I muscle test what Spiritual lessons the client should be focusing on. Unconditional love of self, worthiness and self-esteem/boundaries lessons come up more than 60% of the time (these lessons come up more often with sexually transmitted diseases). If we focus on what our soul is here for, and consider other things in our life as just distractions, I think we can accomplish more per lifetime.

Here is an example from the book having to do with a sexually transmitted disease.

Physical Illness:  Jon, a Methodist/Baptist, Caucasian, homosexual who was ostracized from a very young age, was diagnosed with AIDS. He has asked the medium Staci Wells (www.staciwells.com) why this disease was happening to him and what could be learned from it.

Staci responded, “For Jon his disease is part of the pattern of shame that he witnessed or experienced in a past life.” AIDS was the perfect dis-ease for him to work through the issues of shame. There was no way around it and even when he was very sick, had a Near Death Experience and could choose to pass over to the other side, he chose to stay.

“The best way to treat your fears is to kiss them on the nose, and they disappear. Almost dying helped me to realize that They—with a capital T—don’t have any power over me anymore,” said Jon.

Jon’s reading with Glenna Dietrich (mysticalrae@meltel.net) revealed that he chose AIDS as a way to learn self-love and to stand for truth. It’s OK to be a nonconformist. You don’t have to live your life to please others because if you do that sometimes you find it impossible to work on your own life lessons.

By choosing AIDS Jon might adopt the beliefs of those around him and conclude that he is in fact not worthy of unconditional love. The soul repeats these lessons until it is healed. The soul seeks to balance the light with the dark sides so that it may experience all aspects of a lesson which is why Jon did not choose an opulent life filled with unconditional love as a way of learning the lesson of worthiness.

Glenna tells Jon in this reading, “. . .the highest frequency in the universe is that of love. And so to hold that frequency for yourself as long as possible, whenever possible, is the secret.”

(I was reminded of Max Lucado’s story of The Wooden People. We often let society dictate how rotten we should feel about ourselves. What a bunch of hogwash.)

And this is somewhat challenging to Christians who believe there is a judging God up there. (Page 121) “As souls we do not judge one another. The only judgment in the realm of spirit is the self-judgment that may arise during the life review. We judge ourselves, and we are the only ones who do so. Our spirit guides sit with us as we review our lives and occasionally point out moments at which we could have expressed greater compassion. . .”

On breast cancer: (Page 67): We bring on certain illnesses by the way we think, feel, and the things we say.

“Certain parameters we set in motion. Think of a lever in an elaborate mechanical piece. We set a balance piece on that lever which could either be held in place by positive thought and acceptance or dislodged through toxic thought and feelings. The toxic thought and feelings changed the biochemistry and awoke the possibility of the cancer.”

Every day we have the ability to make choices. If we choose thoughts and things that are less healthy, the next day we can choose different thoughts. It just takes awareness, patience, and practice to keep our thoughts and deeds on a positive path. Of course we need to tip that scale on the side of health consistently to be in the realm of optimal health.

On parenting handicapped children (page 90): “Souls of vastly different ages incarnate on Earth. As a general rule, younger souls design incarnations in which they explore third-dimensional subjects like power or survival. Older souls, by contrast, in the physical world tend to be less interested in conquest and more interested in emotions.”

Corbie Mitleid (www.firethroughspirit.com) tells Jennifer, the parent of two handicapped children, “Honor them and their choices. . . It’s not punishment. Remember, there’s a fully functioning soul in there that does not have speech problems, doesn’t have spina bifida, can see, can hear, can think. They chose a very ill-fitting suit with a seam sewn wrong, but what inhabits the suit is purpose.”

Jennifer is fulfilling the soul’s desire to be of service in a way that she has not experienced.

Corbie says of her situation: “Although I don’t yet see the two boys in her planning session, I have the awareness that she knows them but hasn’t talked with them yet. They are a part of her soul group. Her soul group is a rather evolved one. These are souls who live by higher ideals and like to take on great challenges.”

Other topics discussed are deafness, blindness, drug addiction, alcoholism, death of a loved one, and accidents

We do not know why each soul chooses the experiences they do. What we can learn from this book is that life is designed around a master plan based on wisdom and love. Each of us has a divine purpose for being. Seeing how this unfolds from a variety of perspectives often helps us to move through life with substantially more grace and ease.

I recommend you get a copy of the book. It’s just a sample of a different perspective, but maybe this will open some doors for you so that you can view your own situation through someone else’s eyes. Enjoy.  Denice

Ask Dr. Moffat:

Question: What should I expect from the homeopathic herpes (HRPZ drops)—any side effects or reoccurrence of symptoms?

Answer: Maybe as a healing crisis, and this shall pass shortly. All homeopathics absorb into the system and glom on to and take out whatever it’s suppose to. So this homeopathic (herpes) would take out any herpes virus floating around the system. The challenge with herpes treatments is that they don’t seem to penetrate the fatty parts of the nerve sheath where the virus lives. And the good thing about these drops is that alcohol does penetrate fatty tissue so this kind of treatment can be more effective than allopathic treatments sometimes.

Denice, Hi and thank you for the session! Sorry for the questions. It’s just a lot of info to take in. I’ve read up on cryptosporidium…..ickkky thing! Many articles said there was no conclusive treatment to get rid of this. No cure? That terrifies me.  I can’t remember if you said I can get rid of it with the homeopathic drops you sent. Will I always have it no matter the treatment? What can I do in the meantime for the crawly, itchy skin on my vulva?

You suggested I use roasted ground carob powder for the heavy metal detox. I found it in the supermarket but it’s not roasted. Should it be roasted to detox of heavy metals? Also, I don’t know why, but all of the sudden the itching and biting sensation on my vulva has gotten very bad again. I thought the acidophilus was working to keep my symptoms at a minimum. It is ovulation time. Could my hormonal levels be affecting the fungus? Or from the fruit I’m eating?

I’m taking the Cryptosporidium drops now. Why don’t any of the doctors I’ve seen know what is causing the itching on my vulva? I’m going crazy. If I take papaya enzymes as a supplement, will that be the same as eating fruit, because then I would be eliminating the sugar. Can I get your opinion? I also read about the benefits of chlorella, so I’ve been taking it in pill form for the past 4 days. Is that ok?

Thanks for your insight on parasites. I looked that up in You Can Heal Your Life by Louise Hay. She says I give power to others, let them take over. Makes sense….especially when I fall in love and let the relationship take over my sense of me. Kind regards, Caroline

Caroline: Keep up with the supplements you tested strong for and add some of the foods in we talked about, and continue with the acidophilus orally and vaginally (mixed with plain yogurt). Read the links I sent you and order the books/or programs. Focus on the positive and what you’ve learned from the whole experience. What do you suppose you’ve taken away from all of this? D

Following the body’s lead doesn’t always follow the directions medical books give. You don’t test strong on Chlorella, so you can stop taking that. You are using up some of your body’s reserves to process something through your system that your body doesn’t want.

Please don’t add anything more to the protocol unless you check with me first. Often people with allergies will do this and they end up with more itching because they are allergic to what they added. We’ve tested your body for products and amounts and I’ve asked if any of the products you are currently taking will cause further aggravation and I’m testing that you are on just the right things right now.

Welcome to the alternative world. I do a pretty good job with allergies. Lots of personal insight! Are you eating the volumes of raw cooked veggies your body wants?

Eating a pill is never as good as eating the food that God made. Man can never include all that is in the whole food. Never. Eat the fruit.

Raw or roasted carob—it doesn’t matter. Have you tried an antihistamine for the itching? Benadryl tests strong for you (even though most people test strong on chlorpheniramine maleate 4mg.) It won’t take away the core cause, but it will help until we get it handled. Hang in there! I know what you are going through.

And yes, I’ve seen lots of cases apparently get healed of the bowel parasites that you have. Those homeopathic drops seem to be awesome and a great substitute for those (bowel unbalancing) antibiotics. Relax and let go of the fear. And eat some beans—use the beans in your blood type Highly Beneficial or Neutral list—they balance out that kidney meridian (which is responsible for fear, dread, doubt and worry) which you seem overwhelmed with! Denice

Hi Dr. Moffat, I have a question for you. My period ended about a week ago and now all of a sudden I am getting that vaginal rash that I had right before my periods start that we’ve been working on. It usually doesn’t come out till the week before my next cycle and all of a sudden it’s changed. I don’t think I’ve done anything different this time. It hasn’t done this to me in a long time. I was seeing if you had any thoughts? Oh, and, I got really sick Saturday with fever and some bad pains in my face like a sinus infection. The fever went away by Sunday but I’m still having the other symptoms. Maybe that has something to do with the healing crisis as well? I haven’t had a fever or any sinus issues in so long I can’t remember. Would a juice fast help me get through this faster?

Dianne: I’m getting that this is a healing crisis. A healing crisis would be milder and not last as long.

I do pick up that your hormones are changing some as well. I’d stick with what you are doing–and testing that it should be getting better in four days. Will you please check back with me then and maybe I can do more testing if you’re still having problems. We can add some natural progesterone cream for the emotional ups and downs if necessary. This would only be used temporarily. Oh, and no vaginal yogurt suppositories or Epsom salt baths are needed this time.

Have you tried hot/cold alternating soaks for the sinus problem? That would speed the healing I think. I’m testing it needs to be done once a day for about 4 days. Here’s that link for you.  /HealingTechniques/hot_cold_alternating_packs.htm

Yes on the juice fast. Use the fruits/veggies on your blood type list for best results. Use ¾ cup fruit juice every day and 6 cups of vegetable juice (we don’t want to feed your yeast any more than we have to.) D.

Dr. Moffat: My symptoms are definitely milder. The rash has been around for a couple days now. I can see that my hormones might be doing that too since I’ve been having really weird mood swings that shouldn’t be happening right now. That soak sounds good to me. I will get going on that. I will let you know how it is by the weekend and then we can check if needed. I also saw on your website under the yeast section that you mention non-hormone birth control. I took the birth control patch once and my yeast when way out of control. Is there another alternative for me? I am getting married this year and need something to try without making it worse for me. Thanks Dianne

Dianne: Wow! You’re right then! It’s a healing crisis. Nice validation. I went through a few of these on my own journey as well. Things came up briefly that I had not experienced in years and then the symptoms went away (permanently). It was really weird.

Three things come to mind with your particular health issues:

An IUD, which may be the most effective method of birth control for you right now. Also the mucous and basal metabolic temperature methods will help you understand when you’re ovulating (good for both birth control and fertility.)  Here are the links to those two methods which I’m told can be as accurate as any other birth control method when done correctly:

I figure that any methods that teach you how to listen to your body are good. I think the IUD is the safest though as you have to be very exacting with the mucous and temperature methods and you can’t miss a day. Diaphragms and condoms are probably not the best choice for you as many people are allergic to the spermicidal jelly used with these methods or are allergic to the latex or whatever they are made of.

Dr. D. Thanks. You didn’t include a wart formula. Is the HPV homeopathic for the vaginal warts?  Sally

Dear Sally: Yes, HPV is for the warts.  It stands for Human Papilloma Virus. Good luck Sally. Denice

Denice: Thank you for letting me know about EFT. I did it for my insomnia and amazingly I’ve had four nights consecutive sleep! But why is it not taking the herpes away?

Answer: Good question. Wish I could tell you the answer to that. I guess logically I think it’s because the virus attacks the nerves and embeds in the fatty layer of the Schwann cells surrounding the nerve fibers which are much harder to get to and to treat. Maybe sex issues are just more deep-seated than other issues as well.  I don’t have all the answers for that one. You might want to have one treatment from my friend April Rubino to see what her take is on it EFT-wise. She’s very gifted and has great perspectives: www.integrativemindworks.com

Good afternoon Dr. Moffat: In researching supplements I just came across your wonderful website. I am wondering if you can assist me or point me in the right direction. I have two conditions the cause me many problems. I have Peyronie’s Disease. I would like to know if you have any suggestions. Are there some beneficial minerals or supplements? Any info you can offer would be great.

I have tried Vitamin E, copper, MSM, organic apple cider vinegar, CoQ10, serrapeptase, lumbrokinase, nattokinase, emu oil, castor oil packs and a few other things. Nick

Dear Nick: Bummer dude! Peyronie’s is really tough (and I know from other clients that it can be very painful). Looks like you’ve tried some primo supplements already (and I muscle tested that you were right on target).

I’m testing I can’t help you with my own services, but here’s a thought. . .when those particular cervical vertebrae are out of alignment, the Lovett Brother Relationship chart (read more on this here: https://www.homeopathicdentist.com/publications/chiropractic.html ) says the lumbar vertebrae also have to be out. I think they are connected in your problem (I’m testing a 60% connection). Another example of the Lovett Brother Relationship I commonly see is that when a person has a tailbone injury it will often be associated with headaches because the opposite of the tailbone is the first cervical vertebrae on the chart. So, if you adjust the tailbone, the headaches disappear.

Have you every tried Toftness technique? Depending on the practitioner of course, I’m testing you could get 80% relief from that. Most chiropractors that do this technique kind of operate under the radar. It’s not highly thought of (kind of Voo-Doo like) but I’ve personally been helped a couple times with it. Miraculous actually. You have to be open-minded. They use a drum and rub their finger on it to find out which muscles are out, and which area is affecting others. It’s really bizarre. I’d call all the chiropractors in your area and ask around for a practitioner.  To read more about it (actually this was the best link I could find that discusses the technique and it’s a “bogus technique” page that does not speak very highly of it. Oh well. Whatever works is my motto!) Here’s that link: https://www.chirobase.org/06DD/toftness.html

Another supplement that you have not listed is Neprinol. I’ve read some information recently that suggests this supplement shows some promise in the treatment of Peyronie’s. You are actually testing that you could take 2/day for about three years and that this would help. Maybe you can find some online?

Let me know how it turns out for you. I’d love to know that it helped as much as my Guides say it will! Good luck. Denice

Note: For those of you who have never heard of Peyronie’s, it is a condition of the penis where the man gets an erection and it won’t relax. This can be quite painful. Men often discover the lumps . . .  actually, clots of fibrous tissue or plaque . . . in their flaccid penis before they feel discomfort. However, as time goes on and the plaque and resulting scarring increase, the skin tightens and erect penis becomes bent and painful, sometimes preventing intercourse.

Tips and Tricks for a Healthier Life

Fireworks and Thunderstorm Tips and Tricks

Did you know that fireworks can hurt the ear drums of animals because they have such sensitive hearing?

Did you also know that fireworks affect more than just cats and dogs? Farm animals have been known to run into fences and get caught up in barbed wire because of their fear. Even wildlife are affected. Sometimes birds will fly away from their nests and young and never return. Poor things. So, here are some tips to keep your pets safe during this time of the year:

Microchip your cats and dogs. Over 80% of microchipped animals are returned to their owners.

Have some Bach Rescue Remedy on hand. Two to three drops in their water around this time of the year will help them with some of the fear from those loud noises.

Collars: Have a collar with your name and phone number on it and have a current picture of your pet in case you need to create a Lost Pet poster. Be sure to fit your cat with a break-away collar so they won’t choke if their collar catches on something as they run.

Lost Pet Poster Tips (just in case):  https://www.lcshelter.com/documents/lostpetflier.pdf

A picture of your pets should always be kept in their medical record just in case. I’ve noticed over the years that most people do not know what color or breed their cats are. If your pet gets lost a picture could be the only way you’ll get back with your beloved friend.

Put your horses in a barn. Walk the pastures every day and watch for animals that have been caught up in fences trying to get away.

Cover the cages of indoor and outdoor pocket pets such as rabbits, guinea pigs, rats and hamsters so they’ll feel safe.

Keep your cats and dogs in the house before the fireworks start. If they want to hide under the bed, let them. Cover the windows and find a nice quiet room in the house for them to stay. Don’t stroke, pet or reassure her by saying, “Don’t worry, it’s okay.” This may actually reinforce her nervousness or fright.

Provide White Noise: A fan, radio, television or playing music that features instruments or nature sounds like water or waves can help cover up some of the noise from the fireworks or thunder.

Talk to your local vet about getting a tranquilizer for these occasions for those animals that have overwhelming fear and those that natural remedies can’t help.

I know this may seem obvious, but don’t take your pet to the fireworks display. Leave them at home where they are safe.

Prevention: When you get a new younger pet, give them treats when they hear loud noises, guns, thunder. Make it fun and they won’t have to endure a life of fear from these occasions. I once had a Labrador who thought it was so fun to go hunting she’d jump up at the shotgun and try to catch the shot! Hmmm. Maybe we made that a bit TOO fun for her. We used a cap gun and gave her dinner each time we fired it off. We did that for a couple of weeks after she got settled in with us because we wanted to use her for hunting and didn’t want her to be afraid of thunderstorms.

And here’s another time saving tip. . .

Quick question. Which side of your vehicle is your gas tank on? If you are anything like me, you probably can’t remember right away. My solution is to uncomfortably stick my head out the window, strain my neck and look.  If you don’t do this in your own car you definitely have done it in a borrowed or rental car.

If you look at your gas gauge, you will see a small icon of a gas pump. The handle of the gas pump will extend out on either the left or right side of the pump.  If your tank is on the left, the handle will be on the left.  If your tank is on the right, the handle will be on the right (see photo above). It is that simple!  Gee, I feel so dumb! Thanks to Mary Engel for sharing this. It’s been ever so helpful!

Client Testimonials:

Hi Dr. Moffat, my husband and I have been on the HPV (Human Papilloma Virus) drops for about a month now and we have not had any break-outs at all. I was wondering if that is a good sign or do we have to keep taking them until we see something?

Also, I am soooo much better! The breast pain finally went away and my cramps are much less painful. . . Thank God!  I have to say, I noticed a big difference when I started eating a few licorice candies like you suggested. It may have just been timing but it sure seems to help. I was wondering however, if I should have another phone consult because the last one still showed that I have one more layer to get through. I am feeling pretty good now, but I want to know if I need to stay on the drops and pills you have had me on. I don’t want to have a relapse or anything.

Allie: Now you take the HPV drops on an “as needed” basis. When you feel like something is coming up sore-wise, put a drop or two on that area and take a dropper or two each day for about a week. Good job! So glad you’ve finally conquered that breast pain. I’m testing that you should be rechecked in two weeks. Please don’t stop taking the drops and pills until your body tests you don’t need them anymore (like the HPV drops) there may be some you will need as a maintenance.

Hi Denice-Hope you’re enjoying the lovely weather! I am in need of a refill on the Wheat Germ Oil Fortified (SP) and the Cardio-Plus if I am still testing I need them (currently I am taking 2 Wheat germ oil & 3 Cardio). If I test I still need them, I will also need more of the Homeopathic Petrolatum and the STD (Sexually Transmitted Diseases homeopathic drops) formula. My follow-up on the PAP smear was good, no problems. -Sharon

Sharon: You no longer need the petroleum drops Sharon. Good for you! Making progress. And you kicked butt on that Pap! Really great news! Will send the other supplements (rebalanced of course) One each on the Wheat Germ and Cardio and 10 drops on the STO.

Global Prayer Project
Prayer, Meditation & Discussion
with James & Salle Redfield

The Redfield’s twice-monthly gatherings have been making a powerful difference, both in people’s individual lives and the world at large. Many have written to them telling them that the energy generated from this network of spiritually-minded participants is “indescribable.” Like all prayer experience devoted to helping others, many participants have felt the results in their own bodies and received guidance for their own lives.

Research tells us that the more people praying together, the more powerful the prayer and the greater the level of energy felt by the participants. We invite you to join the largest regular prayer network in the world. If you would like to take an active role in maintaining a circle of positive intention across the globe, while going deeper and heightening your own spirituality, please join us.

To get onto the email list for this project, go to:  https://www.celestinevision.com/index.html

(Denice’s Note: I met James and Salle at a Miracle Mastery talk in Portland Oregon a few years back. What I loved most about them was that they really “walk their talk” and are truly loving and caring people whose entire intention is to make our world a better place to be.)

Being happy is the cornerstone of all that you are! Nothing is more important than that you feel good! And you have absolute and utter control about that because you can choose the thought that makes you worry or the thought that makes you happy; the things that thrill you, or the things that worry you. You have the choice in every moment.” Excerpted from an www.Abraham-Hicks.com workshop in Sacramento, CA on Saturday, March 15th, 2003

The Psychiatrist and Proctologist…

Two doctors, a psychiatrist and a proctologist, opened an office in a small town and put up a sign reading: “Dr. Smith and Dr. Jones: Hysterias and Posteriors.” The town council was not happy with the sign, so the doctors changed it to read, “Schizoids and Hemorrhoids.” This was not acceptable either, so in an effort to satisfy the council, they changed the sign to “Catatonics and High Colonics.” No go. Next, they tried “Manic Depressives and Anal Retentives.” Thumbs down again. Then came “Minds and Behinds.” Still no good. Another attempt resulted in “Lost Souls and Butt Holes.” Unacceptable again! So they tried “Analysis and Anal Cysts.” Not a chance. “Nuts and Butts?” No way. “Freaks and Cheeks?” Still no go. “Loons and Moons?” Forget it.

Almost at their wit’s end, the doctors finally came up with: “Dr. Smith and Dr. Jones, Odds and Ends.” Everyone loved it!

Denice’s note: I like this kind of humor (it’s actually best when you’re really tired) so named one veterinary clinic “Caws to Paws” and I will have to say a great number of the population just didn’t get it. Ho hum. . . .

Hello. This is God. Today I will be handling all of your problems for you.  I do not need your help.  So, have a nice day. I love you.  P.S.  And, remember… If life happens to deliver a situation to you that you cannot handle, do not attempt to resolve it yourself!  Kindly put it in the SFGTD (something for God to do) box. I will get to it in MY TIME.  All situations will be resolved, but in My time, not yours.  Once the matter is placed into the box, do not hold onto it by worrying about it.  Instead, focus on all the wonderful things that are present in your life now.  Now, you have a nice day. God.

What’s New at Our House? We’ve Moved!

When we first arrived in Moscow our goal was to move to the country. To do that we had to generate a certain amount of monthly income and began working toward having a telephone consultation practice with over 90% of my clients serviced solely via the phone and internet. Well, in May of 2008 we reached that goal and moved to the country.

We now live in a lovely home we are renting as we search for our dream property with a creek. Just one more step! This house has five bathrooms. I think I need to rent a couple of beds for the Reiki class coming up in September as a few of my clients will be staying here for the class.

We have the couch situated in front of the windows overlooking the pond. As we eat our dinner all four of us (Michael, Maggie, Dagney and I) just stare out the windows at all the beauty. Dagney spends lots of her time during the day watching the birds from her perch next to the window. And Maggie has taken up barking to let us know we have visitors. That’s different. She’s still getting used to some of the funny sounds in the house.

We haven’t unpacked yet as clients come first then the old house which needed some touch up. My mom came to visit. She says we have too much stuff! We can’t park our cars in the very large garage yet but the office is all together! The copy machine didn’t take the trip so well.

Now I had been praying to the copy gods for years, “Please let Karen (our IKON repair person) just fix it this one last time and I promise I’ll buy a machine next year when we can afford it.” Well, this time Karen gravely stared into the workings of my old girl who had been servicing us quite well for over 13 years and she said, “It’s toast. There are parts and springs that have sprung permanently and we don’t even have replacement parts anymore.” So we got a new machine. I asked her what she likes to work on and got whatever that was. Don’t know how to use it yet but I can make a simple copy.  The copy machine tutor will be coming soon. He sold me the old machine used. When he brought me a loaner I almost didn’t recognize him. He’s all gray! Sounded the same. I recognized his voice. That old machine lasted a very long time!

Day two in our new home we found our cell phones wouldn’t work. Michael bought boosters and called the phone companies but we had to change carriers to get one that partially works.  We also had to get a second phone line for consults only because way out here in the country voicemail is not available and when I’m on the phone someone calling in would just hear ringing. It was really annoying especially when many of my consults take 90 minutes and I was interrupted about 6 times per call. We re-upped our National Do Not Call status on day four.

Bought an answering machine for line one but it was so horrid that it cut the messages off halfway through the phone number they were leaving. Some people didn’t get called back. Did I say before that email is the best way to reach me? We have a better machine now, but I kind of feel like the A-Team with all this equipment.

Now I don’t have caller ID on line two (the consult line) or an answering machine but people know they can call me on that line so they don’t use the other one. Hmmm. Something is less than perfect here. I’ll keep working on that.

Oh and we have lots of thunder storms out here. I unplugged the computer trying to protect it and unplugged the cordless phone at the same time. Now, did you know that when you do that you can’t use your phone? What an adventure this has been.

The packages are going out as usual only the post office is only open for one hour on Saturday mornings. I guess the Friday evening appointments may have to wait an extra day for their goodies. The mailman will pick up the packages right from our mailbox which is nice. It is four miles to the post office so that’s good.

Meanwhile back at the ranch my 50th birthday came and went and the chickens that I ordered would not be coming until July 25th or so. Michael told me to see what I could find in Lewiston so I came home with 11 Buttercups, Buff Orpintons, and a couple of banty chicks.  They grow pretty fast (and create a lot of dust which is now covering all our stuff in the garage.) Michael built me a chicken tractor (I’ll post a picture next time) just wide enough to run down between the rows in the garden to keep the rows neat and tidy of all weeds. You just can’t let those chickens run everywhere in your garden. They pick, scratch and eat everything. They’re good weeders.

We were blessed to see a baby buffalo being brought into the world. The buffalo actually look like pigs running across the pasture when they play. Very big pigs. And moose look a lot like mules in the face. We watched a tiny baby moose follow it’s mom up the field across from the pond. It was incredible. That baby moose only came up to the hock of it’s mother. The mother would walk a few steps, look back and call the baby and the baby would wobble up behind her then she’d walk a few more steps.

The deer are having babies this week. We haven’t seen the elk for a week or so. Maybe they’re just getting used to people being here. And now we have several sets of goslings on the pond. The adults hold up the front and rear of the line, the babies in the middle and often a single goose on the side.

The second Saturday in our new home I watched a pelican visiting the pond out back. It waded in the water for hours then decided to fish. I didn’t see it catch anything but the week before I saw a heron dip in and pick off a Blue Gill in the pond. I guess the 2-foot bass were too big for a single meal? It’s been a prolific spring.  Gee, I haven’t been fishing for years. I’m looking forward to a few moments to dip my line in the water. Those fish seem pretty hungry! Bass is good.

We haven’t gotten out our address changes yet (thank goodness for email!) Most of my clients know my new address but I haven’t had time to get new cards. I’m officially two newsletters behind now.

I’ve been doing the weekend warrior aerobic gardening thing. Eleven hours of digging and sod removal a Sunday for the last three Sundays so that I can get some starts from our old house before it sells (I could remove 50% of those plants and the yard would still look crowded. Gee, and I gave so many of them away last year as well!) And then we’ve pushed to get some vegetables in as well. Our lettuce is ready to eat but on June 10th it snowed! I had to plant the warm weather crops late. Usually I get everything in by mid May. It’s been a strange year.

I spent a couple of days gathering before and after pictures of all the big projects we worked on for the old house so I could build a web page for Team Idaho Real Estate to link to. If you know anyone interested in this area, feel free to send them to this link:  Link inactivated–house sold. Thanks!  Actually the new owner’s found the house through this website so I was really jazzed about that. Cool, huh?

In Memorium

Snorkel” Bingham (1995-2008) Snorkel, a neutered Siamese wonder boy, lived several years with bouts of pancreatic problems. Mary, his owner, patiently and lovingly did what it took to keep him going for several years, poking supplements and medications down his throat and giving him fluids to extend his quality of life. She never gave up on Snorkel and utilized a variety of integrative medicine techniques. Snork was finally diagnosed with pancreatic cancer this year and was put down a couple of months ago. I just wanted to honor him and his mom because with alternative medicine he was able to live about 3 years longer than these cases usually last. Thanks for allowing me to be a part of his life Mary.

“Lexi” Bunney (April 1996 – June 2008) We put Lexi, a miniature Daschund down this month. She originally came to me in December of 2008 and had been paralyzed for two years. Her owner couldn’t bear the thought of putting her down as she had so much life in her and wanted to try alternatives.  We used supplements, chiropractic adjustments and foods to support her nervous system and she was able to walk after a few short months of treatment. She had several great years of running around her yard but the damage to her spinal cord permanently had affected her ability to hold her urine which had gotten worse these last few months. She got to the point where she had to wear diapers (which she hated) and spend most of her time in the garage in a crate while her owner was at work. We all decided that this was not the kind of life Lexi wanted and that it was her time to go. Her mom went WAY beyond what most owner’s would do for their pets. Thanks for the good run Lexi!

That’s it for this Month!
