A seizure is defined as a sudden, involuntary, time-limited alteration in behavior where the body’s motor activity, consciousness, sensation or autonomic functions are temporarily out of control and the brain’s electrical activity is out of rhythm. The body will be rigid with the head back (called opisthotonas). Tremors, unconsciousness, running, paddling limb movements and sometimes chewing movements occur along with SLUD signs (Salivation, Lacrimation, Urination and Defecation). Seizures usually last from 2-3 minutes but can last up to 15 minutes in severe and advanced cases.

What’s new at our house: Chicken Hill—“A Gated Community” as my brother now calls the chicken pen is also looking good. We’ve got about a city lot mostly cleared and fenced and the girls have spent the entire summer running around and scratching the area in search of bugs. Michael put up a large covered area for them so they will have a place to go now with the snow on the ground because they don’t like going out into that white stuff. It also serves as shelter for when the eagles, owls and hawks come around. We lost two birds to them this year so now when the girls hear anything screeching they all run for the cover and race into the hen house. They stay there about 20 minutes then come out to play again.

Cathy, a woman in her early 40’s suffered from vaginal herpes infection which was “gifted” to her by an old boyfriend a few years back. Now the itching is almost unbearable and chronic so much so that she can’t sleep and is afraid to be seen out in public for fear someone will catch her scratching her private parts.

I’ve been hearing a lot about formication lately. In the last month I’ve had four people call with this symptom. These are desperate people who just spill out their story because they can’t find anyone to listen to them. They have gone from one doctor to another and are given prescriptions for antidepressants, antipsychotic medications, referred to psychotherapists and sometimes even put into mental institutions. Serious business. The medical field is labeling this Morgellon’s Disease.

Native Americans mixed Hydrangea with Agropyron repens (Couch grass) and Ahhaea rosea (Hollyhock) for serious kidney disorders including nephritis. It acts as an antiseptic, diuretic and helps to dissolve bladder, kidney and gallstones which cause inflammation of the urethra and prostate. It reduces irritation and helps to soothe irritated tissue (including gout).
