Ileocecal Valve Syndrome

Ileocecal Valve Syndrome also called the great mimicker as this syndrome is often overlooked in the medical profession. I was surprised to learn how many symptoms were associated with the ileocecal valve (ICV) challenge so thought you all would like to know about it too. The ileocecal valve, (pronounced ill-e-o-see-cal), is a one-way valve (when healthy) that separates the small intestine from the large intestine preventing backflow of the large intestinal contents into the small intestine. The valve is located in the lower right quadrant just above the front of the hip bone. The ileocecal valve is also known as Bauhin’s valve, Ileocolic valve, McBurney’s Point and Valvula coli.

Historically onions were used for allergies, worms, boils, diarrhea, frostbite, urinary incontinence, warts and more. In general, when you’re choosing onions in the store, the best ones will be firm, have a crackly outer skin, and have no scent or just a mild scent. Stronger scented onions are an indication that the onion is starting to spoil. Avoid onions with dark spots or mold.

Bladder Pain Syndrome and Interstitial Cystitis and

If you know of someone with this condition, you can be sure that their lives are totally centered around where all the toilets are—even when taking short trips. Interstitial cystitis is defined as recurring pain or discomfort in the bladder and surrounding pelvic (perianal) regions in both men but mostly women over the age of 30. This condition is a sign of a toxic body and is often associated with other inflammatory conditions such as Irritable Bowel Syndrome and Fibromyalgia. Interstitial Cystitis causes scarring and stiffness of the bladder which affects the nerves in that area that signal the need to urinate. Some people with this condition have been known to need to use the bathroom up to 60 times within a 24 hour period—as you can imagine this interferes greatly with any social, work and sexual intimacy situations.
