Allersodes are homeopathic attenuations of antigens; i.e., substances which in moderate or large dose cause the production of antibodies. Diluted homeopathic doses ‘turn off’ the body’s hyper-responsiveness, thus desensitizing. Each Professional Complementary Health Formulations allersode combination provides an array of common allergenic materials along with factors that promote nonspecific resistance to allergic stressors. Potencies of individual agents are in the 6X up to the 100X potency range.

Desensitization protocols:

The way I determine a protocol in my phone consultation practice is through muscle-testing. And over the years I’ve noticed that my clients don’t test strong (don’t need) the number of drops as are recommended in the following protocols suggested by the company. But this is one reason why they only sell to health care practitioners—so that we can monitor your progress and answer your questions-and this is the reason why I will only dispense homeopathics to existing clients. This educational process takes time and taking homeopathics just takes some people a bit getting used to.

For sensitive patients (those who have anaphylactic or cardio/respiratory responses), administer 1-10 drops depending on sensitivity and gradually increase to chronic dosage level (see below). For an allergic response (those with a sudden onset of 1 to 3 hours), use 10-15 drops every 15 minutes to 1 hour. As the severity of symptoms decrease, reduce to acute dosage levels (see following).

With acute symptoms (those which come on within 24-48 hours), give 10-15 drops every 1-2 hours until symptoms are relieved, then move to chronic desensitization dosage levels (see following).

For chronic symptoms, administer 10-15 drops three times per day.

During desensitization avoid the trigger substance. Re-introduction of the offending substance may be attempted as a challenge one month after commencing desensitization.

Maintenance: Treatment once monthly or as needed for symptom control is suggested to maintain desensitization and annual desensitization may be necessary during period(s) of highest susceptibility.

NOTE: Consider using ‘Allergy Liquescence’ seen for those conditions requiring symptomatic relief. Some patients are so sensitive they may react to the small material dose contained in these formulas. In these individuals it may be necessary to reduce the dose to 5 drops in water taken every 3 days and build up to recommended dose.
