NHT News Vol. 13 No. 4 NOVEMBER 2, 2017

In This Issue:

(Please note that full names are never used in this newsletter or on my website without the full consent of the sender or client. Some cases also encompass groupings of cases with similar symptoms and suggestions for healing in an attempt to educate the general public.)

From the Desk of Dr. Moffat:

7th Annual Black Friday Special postcards are going out this week. If you are a client and have not received a postcard by mid-November, perhaps you have moved and not updated your address with me? Send me an email and we’ll get you updated.

What’s New on the Website?

As my client base increases and includes more people who live in other countries sometimes my lists need to be updated. Here in Idaho, we don’t have many choices when it comes to eating fish and seafood, but on the coastal areas and around the world you all have many more choices, so I’ve updated the fish list on the website as of last month: Updated List of Fish and Seafood. https://naturalhealthtechniques.com/list-of-fish-and-seafood/

I’ve also updated the Black Friday Special webpage for this years’ sale: https://naturalhealthtechniques.com/annual-black-friday-special/

Product of the Month: Gymnema for Sugar Cravings

Gymnema sylvestre plant.

I thought Halloween time would be a great time to introduce an ancient herb to squelch sugar cravings so the product this month is the herb Gymnema.

Chewing of Gymnema leaves blocks the ability to taste sugar/sweet and raises insulin levels. The similarity in molecular structure to sugar can actually block the absorption of sugar calories into the body. Read more on the herb Gymnema: https://naturalhealthtechniques.com/gymnema-for-blood-sugar/

Tips and Tricks for a Healthier Life: Prayer Therapy

Sometimes I connect people with the services they need. Other times I’ll have them send me a list of names of certain practitioners in their area and then muscle test for the highest and best good of all concerned asking who would be the perfect practitioner for my client. Most times this works out really well for my clients. For this particular client below, I recommended Prayer Therapy from a friend of mine, Rev. Bonnie Barnard. Here’s what my client wrote to me after her session with Bonnie:

“Talking with Bonnie Barnard was like seeing myself reflected in a clear, still pool of water. I felt truly known and heard. Bonnie affirmed the choices I want to make in my life and helped me let go of all the objections I’ve been wrestling with. I highly recommend a session with her to those wanting to make changes in their lives but struggling with self-doubt.”

Coconut oil can cause dry skin and acne. A blog I came across recently is well-written and researched explaining why coconut oil may not be the right choice for use in skin products. I’m including this in my newsletter because sometimes I forget to ask about skin products unless someone specifically contacts me for skin diseases like acne (which is surprisingly easy to repair) or eczema (a bit more of a challenge to get to the core causes but totally repairable at least in humans in most cases). Anyway, I think you’ll find the article educational. https://www.fromthebathtub.com/2015/03/why-some-skin-types-should-stop-using.html

Client Testimonials: Testimony on Reiki Effectiveness

“My brother had his appointment with his retinologist yesterday.  They scan his eye each time.  He reported he had significant improvement!  The swelling had gone down and the bump on his retina is less prominent.  He’s not doing anything else differently, so he — and I — credit the 1/2 hour of daily long distance Reiki treatment.  Amazing.  Even I’m finding it hard to believe.  Thanks for your help and direction, Denice.  Really grateful.”  Bea in Oregon

What’s New at Our House?

Michael and I finished the roof and bracing for the walls of the cob oven area. We’ve decided to save the last two layers of plaster for spring when it’s warmer weather as we’re thinking that sifting clay through a screen in freezing weather doesn’t sound like fun. We also think that if the plaster freezes it may disturb the integrity of the final product. We did build a wood storage area on the front of it though.  Here’s one of the latest photos: https://www.facebook.com/209184999104914/photos/a.360239660666113.79497.209184999104914/1604984576191609/?type=1&theater

Michael and I have also been clearing an eyebrow of ground inside our 6-acre fence so that we can plant our nut orchard this year. We’re crossing our fingers for the weather to hold (and no snow until Sunday!) so that a neighbor can come in with his excavator and help us with the terracing. Currently we have hazelnuts, English walnuts, black walnut, a mix if chestnuts, hickory, hican (hickory/pecan cross), pecan, heartnut, almond, ginkgo to go into the ground and I have about 10 pistachio seedlings popping out of small pots. The ultimate goal on our farm is to plant one fruit or nut tree for every person in Deary. We are well on the way to having that goal accomplished, but it will take a few more years to see a harvest from all of our efforts. We collected our first hazelnut crop this year—8 nuts. Whoopee. It’s all fun though. A big thanks to all my special clients who helped purchase the seeds and seedlings for this project creating waves and waves of kindness for years to come.

Local Events: Pumpkin Bashing at the Moscow Co-op Nov. 4, 2017

Don’t miss watching some pumpkin bashing this Saturday at 3pm at the Moscow Co-op! (Yeah, it’s one of Michael’s pumpkins—he is honored to sell one of his giants to the Co-op every year).

Come watch a Knight in full Shining Armor take his saber or sword or whatever he calls it and slice and dice the 500 plus pound pumpkin to pieces. Actually, it should be interesting because I don’t think this knight is expecting a pumpkin to have 8-10 inches of rind but we’ll see. I hope he doesn’t hurt himself then the bashing tool doesn’t easily go through! Little Bear Dairy will be taking the pumpkin scraps to feed their pigs/chickens/goats/dairy cows and mule after the event. Nothing goes to waste on a farm.

That’s all for this issue. Hope you all had a great Halloween! Denice
