How to Build Affirmations…

Affirmation Building:
One of the ways you can enhance your chances of living a healthier, happier, more prosperous, fulfilled life is by repeating positive statements, known as affirmations.
Louise Hay defines an affirmation as a positive statement about how you want your life to be written in the present tense.
I’m going to give you some positive statements that can help you make a favorable change. . .if you are serious about changing your life for the better. I suggest you also write them down, just the way you used to in school when your teacher made you write a statement on the blackboard twenty-five or more times.
Many people have mental blocks they aren’t aware of that keep them from the wonderful life they were born to live. These blocks more often tend to be unconscious. Such negative beliefs have a repulsive effect in regard to attracting what we are dreaming of. Oddly enough, people with such ideas are often the same ones who will tell you what positive thinkers they are. They’re nice people, however, their thinking is positively negative. . .and they aren’t even aware of it.
A thought that is constantly being reinforced through repetitive thinking eventually takes on more and more power and begins to color our view of life. In fact, it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. Yet, it’s been my experience that all defeatist thinking eventually boils down to a simple distortion of logic.
I think of this kind of “distortion” as telling ourselves a lie. We give away our God-given power when we make such illogical statements as, “That person makes me so mad!” or “Every time I hear (or see) that, it makes me sick,” or, “The only thing I have to worry about is. . .”
I could give you many, many more examples. The truth is, no one can make us mad, sick, or worried. The only person doing this to us is ourselves. If we feel these things, we may not like someone or a situation, but to say that it makes us feel sick is setting ourselves up for bad luck and unpleasant experiences. We create what we hate in our lives.
We must remember that our subconscious mind does not have a sense of humor. It takes everything literally and acts upon whatever we say.
I know a number of nice people, who when they have not attracted the material items or the experiences they desire, always say to me and everyone else they come into contact with, “Things never go my way!” or ” I never win anything!” or “I’ll never have enough money for that!”
They constantly repeat these statements, not realizing that they’re programming themselves to continue NOT receiving what they most desire. We need to become aware of the things we are saying. When I hear people making these kinds of destructive statements, I always say to myself, “This may be true for you, but it’s not true for me.” When we hear these kinds of statements, it is important that we reject the negativity so it doesn’t slip into our own subconscious. Whenever we become aware of negative thoughts or ideas in our own mind, it is also important not to give them power by repeating them.
The Power is in Our Words
We live in a spiritual universe. . . everything is spirit. The material part of the universe is made of what might be best described as “crystallized spirit.” “Crystallized spirit” ranges from the very fine to the very gross.
We need to recognize that all things begin with our thoughts and that words have great power. Before we can say or repeat a word, we have to first think it. . .and our very thinking of the word gives it power. This power is greatly amplified when we speak the word. In reality, our words are a potent creative force that has the power to build up, to heal, and bless every aspect of our lives. But, our words can also tear down, rip apart and curse.
Whatever we manifest in our lives is a direct result of our thinking and speaking. Some people like to blame their lack of luck on other people, or the environment, or bad breaks, or the stars. . .rather than on the person who is fully responsible. . .themselves. It is important for us to keep affirming our connection to Universal Intelligence, and realize our words are spiritual things that have the power to create success or failure.
Of course, it all depends on how we use words. Below, you will find a group of affirmations that can help us become more successful in manifesting your dream life. . .whatever that life looks like to you.
Choose the ones that you relate to, those that most apply to you, or use these examples to create your own. Repeat them out loud as often as you can, especially in the morning when you get up and again, when you go to bed. Remember to write them down a number of times as this will help program your subconscious mind and get you pointed in the right direction much more quickly.
Affirmations examples. . .
- I calm my thoughts and I am serene.
- Life is eternal and filled with joy. I look forward to every moment.
- I am willing to release the pattern in me that is creating any negative conditions in my life.
- I am worthy of all that my heart desires. It is my Divine heritage.
- I let go of the past and use it only for its positive lessons.
- I change the world around me by changing myself.
- I choose to live an abundant life.
- I am a genius, and I apply my wisdom.
Important Note: It is VERY important to say, “Thank You” whenever anyone does something for us. When these two little words are thought and spoken out loud, they make people feel good, and they want to do even more for us. I always warmly thank the clerk at my grocery store and I love hearing that person say, “Thank You” in return. This is a small thing, but as a wise person said more than once, “It’s the little things that count.”
Here’s a more positive way of thinking, dreaming, or praying. . .one that is certain to invite blessings into your life.
Example prayer: Good Morning God! I thank you for this new day and for all the opportunities and experiences coming to me this day. I thank you for all the wonderful opportunities and experiences I received yesterday, as well. For each and every one of those I am truly grateful! God, please this day, continue to bless me. Please continue to expand my territory. Please guide me to say the right things to the right people and to do the right things as well, that everything I say and do serves my highest and best good and the highest and best good of everyone involved. Thank You, God!
Note: If prayer is not a part of your life, then simply substitute your own name where I say, God. This works every bit as well and it is perfectly appropriate to do so.
When we think, daydream, or pray in this manner, we are inviting in the experience of a healthy, happy, prosperous, fulfilled life. . .the life we were born to live. It is important that we think of what we’d like to have in our lives, to ask for those things, and to see ourselves enjoying and sharing this wonderful life. Counting our blessings is positive thinking at its highest and best.
Correcting Your Thinking. . .
“Where the concentration goes the energy flows.” What we concentrate on is very important. Take a moment to consider what kind of stories or fantasies you tell yourself. Do you see yourself as always fighting or having to overcome obstacles or adversary? Or do you see yourself achieving a desired goal and receiving recognition and reward? Know that our experiences and what we attract are a direct reflection of our thinking.
Whenever I catch myself thinking or indulging in thoughts that are negative, destructive, or unpleasant, I say to myself, “Stop it! Wait a minute. What am I doing? I don’t want to attract this into my life. I choose to “rewind” this tape and cancel all those negative thoughts. I choose to “redo” my thoughts on this subject now.” And then I purposely begin to think about the type of events or experiences I want to have in my life.
While I’m doing this I always express my gratefulness for all the good things I have and that has happened to me. . .a lovely, loving spouse, a beautiful, safe, solid home, nutritious food, great family, friends and acquaintances, even the clothes I am wearing. I express my gratefulness for my health, having an open mind, and for all the wonderful opportunities and experiences that are yet to come.
If we want to attract the healthy, happy, prosperous, fulfilled life we were born to live it is extremely important that we become conscious of what we are thinking. . .and saying. We must avoid saying things like, “That kills me” or “I’m dying to do that” or “That’s to die for” or “I’m sick and tired of this”. . .and so on. We have to listen to what is coming out of our mouths. People who are conscious of the importance of words and their effects always monitor what they are saying. They never make a negative or destructive statement about themselves. This is something we all need to do.
As I mentioned earlier, I hear many people making negative kinds of statements. When I attempt to make them aware of what they are doing to themselves, they’ll often say something like, “Oh, you know I didn’t mean it” or “I was just kidding.” My reply is always the same: “Yes, I know it, but your subconscious doesn’t. . .and it doesn’t have sense of humor either.”
So, watch Your Lips, and begin today saying what you want. . . not what you don’t want.
The fact that you have visited this website and are reading this article says you are headed in the right direction. You can absolutely turn things in your favor. The secret is to invite good fortune into your life by thinking all the time about the good things you are attracting into your life.
I wish you a healthy, happy, prosperous, fulfilled life – The Life You Were Born To Live!
