From the Desk of Dr. Moffat:
Any Silva Intuition Method Grads out there? I’m pretty jazzed up about this long distance healing stuff. I’d love to work with a small group of grads and pass some names around the circle for healing, to hone our skills and to share feedback. I’ve been re-reading all of my hands on healing books lately. Are there any of you out there that would be interested in participating in a small group (we can email, have a private Facebook group or call each other once a week). I’d like to commit to the project for a year to see what we can accomplish. If this sounds like something you’d like to try, then email or call and we can talk. Names will not be shared—only initials to protect confidentiality. Call (208) 877 dash 1222 or email me at [email protected]

Health in the News: Damaged Fingernails and Health
Last weekend I spent most of two days reading 38 sets of fingernails and shoes at the Body, Soul, Spirit Festival in Moscow Idaho at the Latah County Fairgrounds. I hadn’t done that kind of thing in several years; the last time being at the Latah Co. Fair but this was different. It seemed like most of the people I read were “old souls” of over 2200 lifetimes (even the children who wandered up to my booth for a reading as I was wondering where their parents were). “Thanks for incarnating at this time” I’d say. “You’re here to make a positive difference in our world” and the kids would nod their heads.
One thing I noticed were three women with HORRID nails! I was appalled until they told me they had just had their acrylic nails removed. “Why would you do this to yourself?” was all I could say. Their hands were bright red (environmental chemical sensitivities) and the nails seemed to be raised off the beds (just ripe for a nail fungus happening) and I was looking for an answer to the tiny hemorrhages under the finger tips hoping that it wasn’t cancer (in actuality it was the damage from the chemicals damaging the capillary beds thus causing petechial hemorrhages). I should have taken pictures. Anyway, this little ditty came up in my inbox a while back:
What’s New on the Website? My Permaculture Design Exercise pages
I just posted many of my Permaculture Design Exercise documents onto the Elk Meadow Farm section of the website (a 2-winter project finally completed). I know it seems like there are a lot of gardening tips on my website but being a Medical Intuitive with multiple chemical sensitivities means we try to grow most of the food we eat—or at least give it a gung-ho try every year—so being kind to the environment is included in most healers lives. What is Permaculture? Permaculture encompasses taking care of Mother Earth, taking care of your family and sharing the excess. It’s a kinder way to treat your land and honor your neighbors through working together. We use all kinds of techniques to make life easier and more efficient like having a food forest so we can eat more fresh stuff and purchase less from the big box stores. If you’re interested in learning more, I just really love this 18-part video series from Midwest Permaculture: https://midwestpermaculture.ning.com/page/free-18part-intro-to I also highly recommend the book Gaia’s Garden by Toby Hemenway. The Permaculture course I just finished contained 760 online lessons given by Geoff Lawton. It was a bunch of great information.
Case of the Month: Cannabinoid Hyperemesis Syndrome (CHS)
Vomiting and nausea as an overdose symptom from ingesting marijuana is on the uptick in our society. It has not been a syndrome much studied or even considered as marijuana is not legal in most states at this time and is also classified by the Drug Enforcement Administration as a Schedule I drug (drugs which have a high potential for abuse and no medical application or proven therapeutic value). Most American believe this to be untrue from what I hear and read. Read more: https://naturalhealthtechniques.com/cannabinoid-hyperemesis-syndrome/
Product of the Month: Olive Oil
Dr. Moffat’s note: RoseAnne Fischer and I have been interacting for years. I’ve really been getting a kick out of watching her flourish and am so grateful to be able to support her launch of Ruccello Olive Oil. It brings me joy to see people really do something they love and are passionate about.
An Interview with RoseAnne Fischer, owner of Ruccello Olive Oil
Denice: So, tell us how this all came about RoseAnne.
RoseAnne: At the beginning of 2017, I was searching to find the right business to start that would allow me to work and travel between the US and Italy. I hired a business coach and started evaluating options to determine what would resonate with me and bring value to the world. Butch and I planned a trip to Italy in April 2017 and my coach told me to be open to possibilities and see if something comes my way while we were there.
On the last day of our trip as we were getting ready to go the airport, an acquaintance of ours asked if I wanted to import Olive Oil to the United States. And that is how it all started.
As I researched Olive Oil, it became clear that there were many fraudulent and adulterated Olive Oils on the market. When we buy olive oil at the supermarket, we don’t know for sure if it’s actually Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Read more: https://naturalhealthtechniques.com/olive-oil/
Ask Dr. Moffat: Traveler’s diarrhea in dogs and using a tarter scraper for tooth plaque
Hi Denice. I’m just returned from my trip to America and my husband has been making the homemade food recipe that you had suggested. I have to tell you that their coats look beautiful, the stools are solid, and they all appear happier – so a big thank you your way. On a side note, I am concerned that they are developing slightly yellowish teeth and bad breaths- any additional things I could add in without a veterinary visit for teeth cleaning? I will be starting them on the Bowel Pathogen Nosode today. Many thanks. Dr. N (Australia)
Hey Dr. N: So. . .you can always purchase a tarter scraper through the internet. I’d get the Pakistan quality as it’s cheaper. If you can’t find one under tarter scrapers then go to the local rock shops. They use them in jewelry making. And you can always just scrape the plaque off their teeth with your thumbnail (I know you just took them in for dentals fairly recently) OR you can get a child’s soft toothbrush, dip it into some bullion (beef or chicken is fine) and brush their teeth on a regular basis. A raw chicken bone every now and then helps. I think we’ve talked about that but I can’t remember if your dogs tested strong on them. Just one per week usually works out fine. Glad they are liking the homemade diet we muscle-tested out for them. The Bowel Pathogen drops will clean up the residual cryptosporidium and giardia. Use the full dose for the full time though! We don’t need any bugs hiding in the intestinal tract long-term! Denice
Tips and Tricks for a Healthier Life
Dear Denice, I am a bit embarrassed to write this note to you, but I might need your advice. Last Saturday I was looking up cotton clothing on the computer. I was sitting in bed cross-legged with the computer on my lap and when I got up I noticed a red “rash” on my legs on the inside of my knees. It wasn’t the same as my other rash and I figured out that I got burned by the vents from my computer! It burned right through my sheet and comforter as I had my legs under the covers. I have been applying aloe vera from a live plant, but I was wondering if there was anything else I should be doing. I feel so stupid and almost ashamed of myself. I hardly ever go on the computer, so it is pretty ironic that this should happen to me. I would appreciate your advice if you have any. I figure I was on the computer about an hour. I am not looking for any free advice, so don’t hesitate to put your time on our credit card. Fran
Oh my goodness Fran! I noticed that it does get really hot when I put my laptop on me and type. I don’t do it very often but I purchased a breathable soft table to put the computer on when I’m sitting down. I’ve seen things on Facebook showing computers catching fire.
The aloe vera will work just fine. Apply it for 2 more days. Nothing else is needed. The cell turnover rate for normal skin is 10 days so it should be healed by then hopefully. You poor thing!
You didn’t know any better though so why feel ashamed and embarrassed? Think nothing more of this. And no. I’m not charging for this. Denice
Thanks Denice, I feel better just hearing your comforting words. The last few months have been so stressful for me so this event just added to pile of stress. But I feel better after your words. I can’t wait for summer. I need to get out of this house and into my garden!!! It has been such a long cold winter and sooo much snow! Enough is enough! I was thinking you might want to warn other people about computer burns in your newsletter. Probably most people know about this, but maybe there is someone out there who is as naive as I was. Thanks again Denice. Fran
Hi Denice, thank you for taking the time to answer my questions. You inspire me to keep on truckin’ – such is my belief in your wonderful insight. My belief in you and your belief in me, inspires me to believe in myself. Michelle xx
Awwh. You’re so welcome Michelle. We’re all in this thing together. Denice
Hi Dr. Moffat– Thank you so much for your card…I can’t thank you enough for being there to support me through all that transpired with my little dog. Your concern and unwavering support and availability has meant more than you can ever imagine. It’s hard to believe that there was more meaningful communication between us in her last days than in probably the whole last year with the current vets on staff here. I am trying not to lose faith in what they offer because I believe at their core they really do try their best given their knowledge and experience but am so thankful that I have found additional guidance with you to help bring things together for a better perspective. With much love and gratitude…
Healthy Recipes: Mutton
Yeah, I know what you’re thinking. I’ve heard it. That’s exactly why I don’t tell people what they are eating when I make up a batch and bring it to a community or farm function.
The surprised comments are what I really enjoy though after they dish themselves up and taste it. Then I have to answer a bunch of questions like, “Where do you get mutton?” and “Yum, how is this cooked?” “How come it’s not fatty?” and “I never liked lamb before this.” Then I have to say, “It’s not lamb, it’s mutton” and then have to explain the difference, where to get it, how much it costs and on and on. See below for that information. So here you go: https://naturalhealthtechniques.com/recipe-mutton/
Inspiration & Perspective:
“There is nothing that you’re wanting to know that you do not have the capacity to understand fully. And there is nothing that you’re wanting to know that the Universe does not already know that you want to know, and has already begun the process of answering. And so, go forth in excited anticipation that the new ideas will continue to bubble forth, and that the Universal Forces will continue to come forth in loving, benevolent, eternal answering to that which you are about.”
There is great love here for you. We are complete. —Abraham with Esther and Jerry
