Techniques Section
Here are some of the techniques I use or recommend in my practice. There are some “normal” techniques that are mainstream and some I call “wild and wooey” or “out there” techniques. I can’t explain how some of them work, but they do. The variety includes everything from learning about cell salts, fasting, and checking out your iodine levels to learning about holograms and using muscle testing to metabolize fat and toxins. Some are techniques you can do at home.
Healing Techniques in this Section:
Affirmation Building 101: Many people have mental blocks they aren’t aware of that keep them from the wonderful life they were born to live. These blocks more often tend to be unconscious. Such negative beliefs have a repulsive effect in regard to attracting what we are dreaming of. Oddly enough, people with such ideas are often the same ones who will tell you what positive thinkers they are. They’re nice people, however, their thinking is positively negative. . .and they aren’t even aware of it.
Allergy Allersodes The “Animal Mix” homeopathy drops began helping immediately and by a week of use I can not only pet and love my dear kitty, but my sister’s cats as well!! I still sneeze from them, but not my own! Thank you, Denice. Thank you so very much.
Anger & Forgiveness: Forgiveness is a major way in which to shift health challenges. It’s a lot of hard work but every minute you spend resolving issues pays off. Someone once said, “Holding on to anger is like drinking poison and hoping the other person will die.” Here are 77 ways to work through anger and forgive. . .
Aromatherapy: Aromatherapy is the art and science of using plant oils (essential oils) in the treatment of the mind, body and spirit of the patient. Essential oils are extracts from certain varieties of trees, shrubs, herbs, grasses and flowers.
Barne’s Basal Metabolic Temperature How to do the Barnes Basal Body Temperature Test at home.
Castor Oil Packs Castor oil packs are used on the skin to increase circulation and to promote elimination and healing of the tissues and organs underneath the skin. They are also used to stimulate the liver, relieve pain, increase lymphatic circulation, reduce inflammation, and improve digestion. Learn how to use them and what other conditions they are used for and the contraindications of castor oil packs.
Cell Salts When reduced to ashes the body contains only 12 minerals in the form of salts. Lack of any one or more of these minerals will prevent the cells from up taking the proper nutrients supplied by digestion and the blood.
Chakra Balancing Chakras are energy centers which pool positive, negative and neutral electricity in certain parts of our body. They can have a clockwise or counter clockwise spin.
Coffee Enemas: Now why would anyone want to do an enema, let alone a coffee enema? Well. . . Coffee enemas are used routinely in the process of detoxification to stimulate the liver, control pain, nausea, general nervous tension and depression. To make enemas the most effective, the patient should lie on their right side with both legs drawn up close to the abdomen. . .The caffeine is absorbed from the fluid within ten minutes through the hemorrhoidal veins directly and is then transported directly through the portal veins and into the liver. This stimulates the production of bile and gets that elimination system moving.
Colon Hydrotherapy: What is colon hydrotherapy? Colon hydrotherapy benefits, history and contraindications are discussed. Links are supplied to find a trained colon hydrotherapist that knows what they are doing.
Cranio Sacral Therapy During a CranioSacral treatment, the practitioner puts their hands on the clothed body in various places and feels how the pulse of the CSF is moving.
Cross Crawl Exercise I did this exercise fairly frequently when I first started my path to wellness. I remember most of my life, people would call me “spacey”, “space cadet,” “Airhead,” “Dizzy,” and “Blonde.” I think this exercise really helped me overcome much of my dyslexia.
Crystals Used for Healing Look at it like this….If God made humans, plants, animals, trees, flowers, the sun, the moon and the stars, why would the devil be put in charge of making rocks? I love rocks and God does too. Have you ever taken sulfa drugs? Sulfur is a rock. Do you use salt? Another rock. What does a diamond mean to you? Or a birth stone? Well, you get the picture.
Developing Your Sixth Sense: These are notes from the tape series Developing Your Sixth Sense by Stuart Wilde.
DMTEC: Dr. Moffat’s Technique for Emotional Clearing (which she rarely does for clients at this time but you can find practitioners that do this kind of wonderful technique.)
Do You Want To Live: This is for people who are, what we call, “reversed.” This means what is coming out of their mouth is not what their cellular memory or internal consciousness believes. I share a case study…
Dowsing Rods and Pendulums: Dowsing, also known as divining, rhabdomancy, witching, water witching, radiesthesia, divination, muscle testing and doodlebugging, is an art as well as a science that allows you to tap into resources beyond our physicality.
Dry Brushing Technique: The skin eliminates over one pound of waste acids each day in the average adult, most of it through the sweat glands. Dry brushing is a way to quicken detoxification. How to do it and its benefits are explained.
Emotional Freedom Technique: What is EFT? Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) is a form of energy psychology. Its creator, Gary Craig, distilled EFT from the discipline of Thought Field Therapy, developed by psychologist Dr. Roger Callahan. EFT employs fast and effective techniques that combine the principles of acupressure with that of modern counseling to free up and release emotional trauma and physical and emotional pain.
Emotional Rototilling: Reiki-Massage is and excellent way to get the anger out of your system which builds up as knots in muscles, spasms and irritated trigger points. A friend of mine used to call it Emotional Rototilling.
Enemas: A discussion about enemas and how they are used in making the body healthy, how to do them, what to put in them, contraindications, and an explanation of what normal bowel movements look like.
Energy Vortex Clearing: Sometimes there are negative energies associated with vortexes. We have clues this may be the case when our client’s say things like, “I can’t sleep in that bedroom,” or ‘I never did feel comfortable in that house.” Disease is sometimes associated with negative energy vortexes. Negative, non-life supporting vortexes can be responsible for feeling chronically drained, depressed or nervous when in particular areas.
Fasting (5-Day Water Only): You must be mentally and emotionally prepared to do a 5-day, water only fast. Use the buddy system or be in daily contact with an experienced faster.
Fasting with Juice: Fresh juices are rich in vitamins, minerals, enzymes, and trace minerals which help alkalize and normalize the bodily processes which speeds recovery of many chronic diseases. Fresh juices are also easily assimilated into the bloodstream without putting a strain on the digestive organs. Mineral alkalizing broths are also used for their huge amounts of highly absorbable bioavailable minerals. Here’s how to do one.
Fat & Toxin Metabolization: When I first learned of this technique at an Ener-Chi seminar I thought it was just too weird and far out.
Finding Your God Path: A short and hopefully easy exercise to get you on track with your gift to our earth and to God.
Holographic Organs: This is one of those techniques you can’t totally explain that seems “far out” to me, but it can be so effective. I have to admit it flat out works, so I just accept it for the gem it is.
Homeopathic History: A homeopathic remedy is an extremely diluted dose of a mineral, animal, or chemical which stimulates the body to react to it by excreting that same thing out of the body or balancing the body in some way.
Homeopathics–How to Use Them: Instructions for taking homeopathic remedies. How to store them and the do’s and don’ts of using this type of healing modality and when to ask for help.
Hot/Cold Alternating Soak: The most effective technique that I know of for sinus, tooth and eye problems is the hot/cold soak. Here’s what you do:
How to make a Decoction: A decoction is a method of extraction of herbal or plant material by dipping, mashing, soaking, steeping or boiling in water leaves, flowers, stems, roots, bark and rhizomes. Tea would be considered a decoction.
How to make an Infusion: Making an oil infusion is a very simple process. Use high-quality organic herbs and a good quality oil like olive oil. It’s like making a tea with oil, instead of water only you usually make it in a sealable jar and turn the jar upside down every day often for 30 days.
How to make Oil Infusions: An infusion is a method of preparing herbs in which 1 to 2 teaspoons of dried herb or 2 to 4 fresh herbs (flowers and berries are substitutable) is “infused” or placed in oil or water (which does not need to be boiled), and then, after about ten minutes, is strained and ingested.
How to Make a Poultice: A soft, moist mass about the consistency of cooked cereal, spread between layers of muslin, linen, gauze, or towels and applied hot to a given area in order to create moist local heat or counter-irritation.
How to make a Tincture: A tincture is a solution prepared by steeping or soaking (maceration) plant materials in alcohol and water.
Hydrogen Peroxide Uses: If there is blood on clothing, pour directly on the soiled spot. Let it sit for a minute, then rub it and rinse with cold water. Wash as usual and the blood spot will not be there when you’re done. Repeat if necessary. I keep a spray bottle of it by my surgery table to spray the surgical incisions and the laundry that we want to keep looking white.
I Love Me Exercise: Look into the mirror on a daily basis and say to yourself, “I love you. What can I do to make YOU happy today?” Then DO what that little voice says.
Intravenous Chelation: As a naturopath, I spend a lot of time trying out treatments on myself. I try to experience most of the things I recommend in my practice so I know what you will be going through One of my clients offered their hospitality if I would go down and get some chelation. I decided to get a series of 10 chelation treatments (I finished the other 10 in the States). I really didn’t expect anything to happen. I just wanted the experience. I was surprised to experience clearer thinking after those treatments. I thought I was a pretty clear thinker before I went. Quite interesting.
Iodine Patch Test: Go to the pharmacy and purchase Tincture of Iodine–the original, orange-colored solution, not the clear solution.
Karmic Release Technique: Visualize yourself going into the Hall of Records. One visualization could be, you walking up huge steps with pillars on either side, at the top you go into a huge hall, with bookshelves on both sides stacked with Books of Life of everyone who has ever lived on planet earth. These books contain the life stories of every person’s life that has ever lived, with every thought that has ever been thought and everything that has ever been done. There is a desk at the back of the room and the Divine Keeper of the Akashic Records sits there to be of assistance to you. You approach . . .
Kidney Flush Technique: I had a client one time who was about 40 pounds overweight. She resisted eating the raw fruits and vegetables as a means to get back at her parents.
Liver Gallbladder Flush: Signs of stones in the gallbladder usually show up after eating a meal and can include: An aversion to fatty foods (even nausea when eating them), Wandering back pain—especially between the shoulder blades and under the right shoulder blade Upper abdominal pain that gets bad really fast and lasts for about 30 minutes, Pain in the lower right rib cage area, Nightmares, Hiccoughs, Belching/burping excessively, Abdominal bloating, Indigestion, Colic In veterinary school our instructors taught us that the gall bladder is known as the “great masquerader” because gall bladder symptoms are very similar to those of heart attack, appendicitis, ulcers, irritable bowel syndrome, hiatal hernia, pancreatitis, and hepatitis.
Meditation with Spikenard Oil: There was an experiment using Spikenard Essential Oil on the James Twyman site that I thought sounded interesting, so I ordered a couple bottles to use during my meditations. The directions said to put a drop on your third eye (the spot between your eyes directly between your eyebrows) just before meditating, and I almost did.
Melt-a-Cloud: Have you ever melted a cloud? I read about this technique from a Ruth Montgomery book (I think it was Strangers Among Us) and practiced it from a hotel room window and was SO awed to find that it had worked. I then shared it with my friends and family (it really freaked them out because it worked for them too.)
Metaphors: Jim’s favorite phrase on Saturday mornings was, “Come on. Let’s go eat our triple bypass breakfast.” After his triple bypass, he doesn’t say that anymore. Self-fulfilling prophesies? You bet.
Metaphors Causing Physical Disease: If you think more negative thoughts about what is happening to you and your body than positive ones, the negative ones win! For example, I had a client who once used to say, “Let’s go eat our Saturday triple-bypass breakfast.” That is exactly what he manifested within a year. Now let’s think about this. Some of the negative things you say draws energy to certain organs and body parts of the body. Let’s give you some examples. . .
Mucous Method for Fertility Testing: Infertile mucous is described as sparse, thick, flaky, crumbly, dense, opaque, pasty and tacky. It is unchanging in amount. It does not string when you separate your finger and thumb. The mucous increases and decreases as estrogen levels rise and fall. After ovulation, the luteal phase, where the ovary produces more progesterone, lasts 12-16 days. During this time the mucous reverts to the sparse, thick, tacky consistency. Sperm cannot survive in this mucous.
Music as Medicine: In my practice I sometimes use a drum to find the blockages of energy in the body. As you hold the open side of the drum toward the body and beat on the top surface you will hear rebound—except where the energy is blocked. When energy is blocked, there will be a dull thump instead of a rebound. When I find an area like this, I beat the drum into that area until it opens up.
My Favorite Treatments: There are some easy things to do that I don’t mind sharing without an appointment and some things that area easily resolved with just an appointment or two. These are some of my favorites.
Neti Pots: My clients who use a Neti Pot absolutely swear by it for chronic sinus troubles. It really sounds gross putting saline water up your nose, but here’s a great video on YouTube that shows you how to do it. Good luck!
Opening a Coning: Conings are for general health balance, regular health issues, extra ordinary health issues, and assistance during expansion experiences. A coning is a vortex of energy that includes nature intelligence’s, the medical team and yourself. Within the coning, nature is able to stabilize on all levels (physical, emotional, mental and spiritual)
Oxycise: Oxycise is the name of a series of instructional videos, DVDs, books, and audio tapes that combines breathing and tensing techniques packaged and is packaged as an exercise program.
Psychomanteums: A Psychomanteum is a small room or chamber invented by Dr. Raymond Moody and inspired by ancient techniques used 2500 years ago at the Oracle of the Dead in Ephyra, Greece. A psychomanteum helps the living process grief by seeing and/or communicating with people who have passed over to the spirit realm.
Raindrop Therapy: This is the basic Raindrop Technique, although there are several variations out there on the internet. Everybody is different, and what works for one may not work for another. Different body types respond to the applications in ways not expected. Learn to be sensitive to the person to whom you are working so that you can respond to his or her needs.
Reflexology: Reflexology is an ancient therapy of focused foot massage originating in China over 5000 years ago. Reflexology focuses on those parts of the feet and hands representing weakened parts of the body.
Reiki: Reiki (pronounced Ray-key) is a simple, natural, and safe hands-on healing energy system originating in Tibet several thousand years ago.
Sweating, Saunas & Hydrotherapy: At the cancer clinics in Mexico they use showers in the healing process. Hot and cold alternating showers are done after you drink a glass of fresh vegetable juice and before you eat anything solid. You stand in the shower and turn the water as hot as you can stand it for 15 seconds then you turn it as cold as you can take it for 15 seconds and repeat this process for six cycles. After the shower you put on a thick bathrobe and walk barefoot around the lawn until you dry off.
The Dog Food Diet: Now I see some possibilities for this one. A new fad? Who knows. . .
Urinary Incontinence Technique: The corrections can be safely repeated at home without hurting anything and even without muscle testing. Just show the client where to cup the hand to put his or her own bladder or kidneys up.
Urine Therapy: Drinking your own urine acts to cleanse the body, free it from obstruction and rebuild vital organs damaged from disease. Some diseases he’s treated with urine therapy include: Gangrene, cancers of various kinds, Bright’s disease, leukemia, heart disease, malaria and fevers, orchitis, venereal disease, bed sores and burns, the common cold, hemorrhoids, blindness and cataracts.
